Thank you for completing the trilogy. And yes you should read the books, but they aren't quite the same as the movies.

The plot was superficial because this was the film that was least faithful to the books, which is sad because The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is my father's favorite Narnia book. He likes it because of the baptism of Eustace and the opening, "There once was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb and he almost deserved it." The Silver Chair, the plot of which being Eustace returns to Narnia with his classmate Jill Pole and goes to the Wild Lands to the North of Narnia to find Caspian's lost son Rillian, has been in the works for a while, but Netflix also has received the rights to a Narnia series. So something is in the works, but not for a while.

Don't spoil The silver chair as I just started reading that book, although I had never connected Eustace peeling off the dragon skin and getting in the bath to a baptism. Now I feel stupid lol, I will have to reread that part.

@@u2b891 I don't think I spoiled the Silver Chair. I gave a very basic summary and didn't mention any other characters or plot points.

@@joshuawells835 I meant that if you respond something that you are careful not to spoil it to me. I stopped reading when you wrote silver chair in your first comment just in case.

50:03 "Jill Poole has dropped in for a visit". She doesn't appear in this film but she is the other child that gets into Narnia in The Silver Chair. I read the books before I saw the movies. A wonderful read. Lewis also did a science fiction trilogy which is very good. 1. Out Of The Silent Planet. 2. Perelandra. 3. That Hideous Strength. Before Lewis wrote all these book he taught at Oxford University England. He was an atheist who thought that Christianity was for unintelligent people until the Lord put intelligent people in his life. One of them was another teacher of English Literature, J R R Tolkien who was instrumental in Lewis' conversion to Christianity. Lewis would have friends get together at a pub named The Eagle And Child (nicknamed The Bird And Baby.) The group called The Inklings would often share what they were working on. Tolkien shared a bunch of stories he was writing about Elves, Dwarfs Wizards and Hobbits. Which were published as The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings.

26:55 In the books they DON"T bring her back. In Prince Caspian there is talk about bringing her back but the movie made them start bringing he back. In the third book she doesn't appear at all. The director of the movie took some liberties with the book. Coriakin's Island is later.

49:33 Eustace is one of two children who come to Narnia in the Silver Chair. The other is named Jill Poole. They didn't make a movie of that one so you will need to read the book. If you do I hope you will fall in love with the books of C S Lewis like so many of us have.

1:09 Definitely read the books. This movie departs from the book a bit. There is no green fog in the books. The books were published - 1. The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, 2. Prince Caspian. 3 Voyage of the Dawn Treader. 4. The Silver Chair 5. The Horse and His Boy (Which actually takes place during the time of #1T.L.T.E.a.t.W.) 6. The Magicians Nephew (is a prequel describing how Narnia got started). 7. The Last Battle. Modern publishers make the order of the books more like the order of when thing occur but I think that it kind of spoils the mystery of who the professor in the first book is.

48:00 At this point Reepacheep is a bit like Enoch and Elijah in the Bible.Going directly to heaven without dying.

11:30 The green smog was not in the book and I think it messes up the story too much. The director thought that they needed a villain to fight so he added the green smog. But the theme of the book is fighting the enemy within, temptation.

Another movie you might like, unrelated to Lewis is Disney's Enchanted. Don't want to give any spoilers so I'll just say, watch it it's a lot of fun.
