The Chrysanthemums Garden and the Secrets of Strategy・Kikubatake EXPLAINED (1731)

Kikubatake ("The Chrysanthemums Garden") belongs to the third act of the 1731 jidaimono Kiichi Hōgen Sanryaku no Maki ("Kiichi Hōgen and the Book of Strategy"), first written for the bunraku stage and soon after adapted to kabuki.
The cast of the performed seen here includes Ichimura Uzaemon XVII as Kiichi, Nakamura Baigyoku IV as Torazō, Nakamura Shikan VIII as Chienai, Nakamura Fukusuke IX as Minazuru and Bandō Hikosaburō VIII as Tankai.
