After the world ended, most people gave up on the idea of a higher power. Why, they asked, would any deity chose to bathe the world in the flames of Atomic war? However one postwar religion came up with the answer to that question.

My main character is a faithful CoA because of the Mother. Even for essential npc's like Preston or McDonough, if you shoot them, they'll drop. You can't hurt the Mother, no matter what you do.

I think the best direction the Children of Atom can go in is basically becoming the new Medieval Catholic Church. They can fix up nuclear power plants and help the people of the waste land. Plus it would be so much fun to see a Crusading Children of Atom vs Crusading Brotherhood of Steel.

There is. In FO3 you have to choose to give some evil book to a Satan worshipper or a Christian FONV has Joshua Graham who's a morman (which is NOT Christianity). FO4 has the all faiths chapel. It's just that Bathesda and Obsidian probably see it as divisive. Both bathesda and obsidian don't seem to have the same idea of moral ambiguity that they did back in the FO3/NV days and they both seem to be more left leaning. Not like "oh it's woke" or some nonsense. Just left leaning. They probably don't understand religion well enough to get into it without doing the stereotypical "We're the clearly evil gay killers who butcher non believers and beat the hell out of anyone who questions our beliefs.... but also it gives me good feels on the insides." Garbage which frankly is overplayed these days and is disrespectful, so I don't mind them not going into it. Just my guess.

​@@esotericulmanist8331 No, Mormonism is *NOT* Christianity, whether you like it or not. They reject the trinity, they reject the bible (believe it to have been "incomplete" or "corrupted") and rely instead on completely new "revelations". They are as Christian as are the Muslims, a claim you haven't bothered to address, but it's true. If we do not accept that Christianity carries a set of core essential beliefs, then we do not accept that Christianity means anything at all. Religion is not taxonomy, being derived from Christianity doesn't by itself deem you the right to be called 'Christian'.

I think the followers would think them quite weird, but would ultimately want to help them prosper in their own communities so long as they weren't zealots hurting others. They'd likely view the zealots and the violent members the same way they view any agresive faction. Dissapointment but ultimately non-agression unless in self defense.

the Followers are agnostic if not an entirely secular order of scholars and doctors with the aim of aiding the less fortunate on the fringe of civilisation. Not quite what the CoA are about at least not in action.

I add these mods for my CoA needs, all fit the aesthetic and all are fully modular as well, so mix 'n' match is encouraged! CoA Fanatics Outfits (great set with some nice perks/buffs on some items, loads of really nice gear) Atom Girl (worth it for the backpack alone, but it is a quality outfit anyway) Super Mutant Gear (Some cool rags, armour and a Yao Guai head dress..and who wouldn't want one of those?) Kharneth Slave Gear (only three skimpy items that I use, but they work well with the other stuff). My female characters look like something out of a Frank Frazetta painting when wearing some of these items...and that can only be a good thing. 🙂
