Everybody now is like "who is mrs Flood?". My biggest question after this episode was: will they get the cracks in the ceiling fixed?

15:26 in the UK we didnt get the New Doctor New Home New Who part, instead cut to credits then the "never seen a TARDIS before" post credits scene and then we got an advert for the 2024 portion of New S1 afterwards, with the advert saying May 2024 instead of Spring 2024. Assuming everyones getting them Saturdays (instead of say Disney+ getting them on Wednesdays (like Star Wars & Marvel) & BBC 1/BBC iPlayer on Saturdays) the first of the 2024 bit of New Who S1 will come out on one of: The 4th May/The 11th May/The 18th May/The 25th May. Doubtful of the 4th May with it being Star Wars Day, like going up against Star Wars isnt the best of plans even though Disney streams both (at least outside UK for Doctor Who) but beyond that could see any date working.

there are theories on mrs. flood's identities. my personal thoughts are she was replaced at some point during the ep or that she is someone familiar with timelords but not the doctor. that would explain why she wouldn't recognize the tardis from its disguised form as a police call box but on seeing it used would recognize it as a tardis. other theories i've seen range from river song, to the raini, to older ruby. i've even seen the master floated around as a possibility

old lady knows what a Tardis is, but was surprised when she first saw the police box disappear and asked the Doctor "Who are you?" So i'm going to assume she's an alien (possibly Time Lord) who hasn't met him before.

I think Mrs. Flood being the Master is a pretty compelling hypothesis, but I seem to remember that other species know about TARDISes. The Director in season 1 of New Who knew about it and the white supremacist in the first season of Jodie's tenure did as well.

You are so right. The Doctor is fucking hot, Ruby is fucking hot + they both have such good chemistry with each other...... god, that is what I love about Doctor Who. I have a strong feeling, based on this special, that we are in for a threat with the next seasons. The next seasons are going to be so good! I can´t wait. Also: BBC had a date on their version of the special. It said: May 2024. So I guess, we will get the new season then! Can´t wait. The 7th Doctor (1st Scottish Doctor) in a kilt… I’m all in!!! Also, every other Doctor, because honestly, kilts are 🔥 As a Pan who prefers the Bi flag - SOLIDARITY on the pretty coloured flag! My absolute fave is the Queer version of the Welsh flag, because *dragons*! Nine & Jack kissed in ‘Parting of the Ways’, in the Big Finish Audios we have 8 flirting with everyone, & you cannot convince me that 2/Jamie, 5/Turlough & 3/Master weren’t together. (The last 3 are admittedly head canons, but they are based in actions shown: Patrick & Frazer played it up, Peter Davison was told by execs not to touch any female companions at all… so it made him seem downright handsy with Mark Strickson, & 3/Delgado Master actually had a scene where they have a sword fight that includes the Doctor eating the Master’s lunch 👀) Love your reaction! but... if a pregnancy is forced on you, do you really think a woman should then be further punished by having that child around her? and what kind of a childhood is that... being brought up by someone who resents everything about you, your whole existence. when you could have a chance to be loved by parents who chose to be parents instead? I'm assuming abortion wasn't readily available to your great-grandmother, of course. I just can't imagine that people who are forced into parenthood can be good parents. and I also can't imagine that anything good can come out of piling one trauma on top of the other... but I agree with you on letting it be. if you were given up as a baby, there's a reason for that. that's a hard decision to make, so it was probably not made in haste. and one should respect that and leave the poor woman alone.

Oh absolutely I agree. I'm pro abortion and pretty much anti babies hahaha and I guess because of that I wouldn't wanna look. If I was ever in that situation I wouldn't want the baby I abandoned to look me up. Giving them a better life is the best you can do but having to relive it by them finding you and confronting you... No thanks. Cause I'm sure that if you go through with the pregnancy you'll develop a bond, like it or not, with the baby. Trauma on top of trauma 😂

@@SoraMiyano bonding doesn't always happen, but I think it's more a hormonal thing rather than connected to whether or not you want the pregnancy. sometimes bonding doesn't even happen for mothers who wanted nothing more in life than being a mother. 🤷‍♀ nature can be an asshole sometimes. and I'm the same, I hate children, so I immediately put myself in the perspective of someone who was confronted with having one, absolute nightmare. but just because I don't like them doesn't mean I wish any harm on them either, so I think, giving the child up and giving the chance for a better home is the kindest thing to do. and I also think that kindness should be repaid by leaving it the fuck alone. so, I really hope that they are not trying to track down Ruby's mother. if the story needs us to know who she is and why Ruby was given up, I do hope they find another way to make that happen. 🤞

@@SoraMiyano that amount of trauma needs to be weighed against the trauma the child experiences not knowing anything. in most cases of unwanted pregnancies i feel that should outweigh the mother and father's rights. in rape as the upper comment said it is indeed different and i don't know for sure which interest should prevail but in most adoption cases there is some duty owed to the child i feel so a little discomfort on the parents part is something owed to give the child closure.

My mother was adopted and had NO interest in finding out who her mother was. My grandmother who raised her was her mother. Period. She did not want us to look into it, either, at least as long as she was alive. I may do a DNA test some day.

@@sallyatticum just make sure you really want to know. the possible scenarios besides horrific stories might also reveal genetic horrors you can then not unknow. sometimes secrets are kept for good reasons.
