These days, it seems every church is “Church 2.0”, whether it’s a small church or a mega-church, they’re all preaching from the same menu. At some point, it may be healthier to simply form small Bible Study groups where there’s no money involved, no smoke machines, no lights shows, and the focus is on the Word, fellowship, and discipleship.

I was born in 1960. I'm a PK. And I also served as a pastor for 10 years. There was a time when people took their Bibles to church. No more. There was a time when people dressed up to go to church. No more. We dressed up because we brought our best before the Lord. No more. Now people have brought the world into the church. The church No longer goes out into the world to bring a John The Baptist kind of gospel - whom Jesus lauded. Worship is about brokenness. Worship is being humble. God speaks in a still, small voice. He said it was because of too much theology. There can never be too much theology, because theology is simply about knowing God. It never gets too much. Knowledge does puff up, but we can’t love God apart from a knowledge of him.

The Pharisees did not know too much about God. Their issue wasn't that they knew too much theology. They continually had added countless things to the word of God to justify their own traditions (Matthew 15:1-9 for example), effectively twisting scripture (See Jesus' rebuke in Mark 7). The idea of needing to be "born again" as Jesus says in John 3 while talking to Nicodemus would've been absurd to them, as they had believed that salvation was attained through strict adherence of the law. If they knew their theology well, they would've seen that Jesus is the fulfillment of these laws and scriptures, but because they had twisted scriptures to fit their own way of life, they could not see Jesus as the Christ.

I was set free when I started to actually spend time in the word, reading, studying, asking the Lord for guidance, being directed to a true and faithful Christian church (Independent Baptist church) and the love the people have for one another was apparent. A godly pastor that preaches and teaches from the Bible and our Bible study middle of week, feeling true conviction of ones sins is humbling. I spent many years away from God, after falling away from Mormonism, and having my eyes opened and discernment given by the Lord, I thank him for all that he has done for me and continues to do for me every day. Do I struggle with things at times? Certainly, because I am in a fallen flesh, but I know all things are possible through Christ Jesus my Lord. I see all these professing Christians involved in all these charismatic churches of various kinds, and just boggles my mind how so many are spiritually blind and unable to discern the truth. But then I found this: 1 Cor 2:14 “The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness until him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” This means that until you are truly born again, you cannot understand the meaning of Scripture, for it is Spiritually discerned.

Currently leaving my first and last charismatic church. They think they are “spiritual” and others are “Pharisees” but they too are Pharisees, exalting the traditions of men above the oracles of God. I also find this camp very work based. You have to do so much to make things happen aside from simply believing God and living an obedient life. You have to “usher in the presence of the Lord” during service, you have to praise (performatively) to get God to give your “break through”, you have to pray long and loud and in tongues to get God to hear you 😂 I could go on and on. Sad I went for the year and a half that I did but grateful I learned so much and I’m coming out 🎉

I don't understand why 'gospel artists' all of a sudden are ministers/preachers! About 6 of them this year have started a church.I have listened to some of their messages,but they are not 'doctrinally accurate.' I believe you should walk/ worship in the gift that God has given you! Wow, I haven't watched a video I agreed with so much. The key problem 100% of those people have is they don't follow the word. They do what they want to do and say what they want to say.. so they end up doing and saying complete and utter nonsense. Doing that over a period of time and it being validated by others makes it a habit and eventually character. 'Preachers' should say what's in the bible and otherwise.. 'SHUT UP'. I think there is a spirit in these churches that make you believe fully that all is true what they teach. You literally never think that these churches are false. It's like you are veiled. I was there I never ever thought these Preachers were false not once did I even search for false teachers and heretics. It took my life going from good to bad and me always fighting demons, that there never were but I believed the devil was constantly giving me grief. I asked God what am I missing what I am doing wrong why do my life not get better and only then God revealed His truth to me. When I was down and out and these teachings were just so much work. Slowly God lead me to the truth it took a very long time it took me years to get out! I praise the Lord that He saved me!!!
