The Cirrus SR22 - A Winged Mercedes

Sat in an sr22 recently. I would compare it to a Mercedes CLS 4 door coupe. It’s damn nice inside.

Cessna should not have tried to do a low wing competitor. They should have made a modern (composite) high wing plane. I like the performance of a Cirrus, but I prefer high wing planes. Cessna still makes and sells 172 and 182 planes. Piper doesn’t make Cherokees any more.

Cessna tried. It was the Cessna 400 (Ttx) but they stopped making it in 2018 because of low sales.

Sports car analogy? Sure, but without retractable gear and a manually controllable propeller, it's more of a "GT car with an automatic transmission" than an enthusiast's car.

There is such a thing a Lamborghini style door and a gull wing style door hinges from the top (as in the Mercedes 300sl) from 50s and early 60s

Glad I'm not the only person that heard that. Kinda like orientated ... Although there is no real difference in meaning or function between the two words, there is clearly a better choice, and that is oriented. Oriented is a more straightforward, clear word form, and Garner's Modern American Usage calls orientated a needless variant.

Too much plane for many pilots?????? There have been a large number of crashes in the SR-22s. Most due to pilot error.

Substantive Reduced brake wear from taxing, really? At 10-20 mph. You know Kinetic energy is 1/2Mass X Velocity squared. So what your saying is landing at 80-100 mph squared is a small number compared to 10-20 mph taxiing squared. Must be millennial math.

In my opinion diamond makes better aircraft. Much more modern engines, with single lever Power control, and of course they are retractables. And you can have single or twin engines.

I’ll say it…the Cirrus honeycomb seats are rather uncomfortable after 2 hours of flying..172 seats are much more comfortable

Dont you think, its little bit of exsaduration, calling it the Meecedes of the sky?? 😂🤣 far from it. If anything that is even being close to Mercedes of the sky, is the Beech A36, in my humble opinion! I would never pay that kind of money for a SR 22. sorry !
