Hello everyone! Thank you so much for watching this video ❤ It has been brought to my attention that I am indeed pronouncing Batticaloa wrong and it should be pronounced 'Batticalo' as the 'a' is silent !! My sincere apologies to any Batti natives whom I may have offended :D

How beautiful is Batticaloa city! 😍 I've never been there so definitely going in my long list of places to visit in Sri Lanka 😅 It's always awesome to watch your vlogs. They get better and better and are constantly super interesting! It's even lovely to see how you show small businesses that help communities (especially those that provide training, employment, and empowerment of women and the young ones), please keep on doing that since Sri Lanka needs that too ☺️ Much love from Italy and stay safe!

I am yet to see a video of Sri Lanka that hasn’t mesmerized me. The land is absolutely pristine, and while the country has had a turbulent history, I truly wish it turns around in the coming years and decades, and the world takes notice of land that’s absolutely exotic. What happens when you take a piece of lovely hand, and hand it to a couple of people who have a way with words, camera angles, editing and drone shots? Well, you get this exemplary channel. Keep it going, guys!

Hey sheneller! I'm a fellow Lankan teen and I've always dreamt of traveling and exploring hidden gems in Lanka, but having the strictest parents around it's almost impossible for me to go out, I really thank you and admire your very down to earth, well respected nature when exploring and for letting me have the opportunity and excitement to learn more and more about traveling. I aspire to be a traveller like you one day and I love your content so thank youu. Keep exploring! P.S : if you do see my comment, tell Shehan I said Hi!

We visited Sri Lanka in 2019 from the U.S. and joined a 9-day tour with 14 Australians. It was organized by Insight vacations. It was a memorable time. The hotels were fabulous. We would like to do a tour of the Northern Province. There don't seem to be any group tours available that specialize on visits to the north. We would like to visit Jaffna, Batticaloa and Trincomalee with Colombo as our base. Have you any idea how we could do this? Your videos are always great.

Hi Akka, big fan of your videos. Regarding the handloom product line, I believe you can provide the insight and guidance required to reimagined handloom in a different way. I have worked with Barefoot on some engineering projects, so I have seen how successful it can be if done right. A creator like you with amazing scene of fashion is exactly what they need to take handloom to the next level. Off the top of my head, Spain and Italy with their warm climate comes to my mind as a potential market.

Hola beautiful part of Sri Lanka. Very well filmed .Great that the hand loom industry was highlighted this is something people look for I.e. supporting the local community when they visit a country . Loved the boat ride and the history of Batticoloa. I was looking for more activities one can do on the beautiful beaches and the local food culture I mean srilankan food unique in the eastern part of Lanka not Indian/ Chinese food and less on the hotel n the cocktails which one can enjoy in many parts of the world.
@Sheneller3 жыл бұрын
Hola!! thanks a lot for your comment. The hotel were the sponsors of this vlog hence why we had to strike a balance in the content of the property and the destination. As for food it was tough to find local vegetarian food in Batti given the short amount of time that we had in the city. We will definitely do a seperate video on the local food of Sri Lanka. that requires a lot more planning. and cannot be done on one of these trips.
@kooithap60883 жыл бұрын
@@Sheneller Hola comestas. Thanks for your reply. I was more looking towards the local food available at Batticoloa i.e.is there anything special / unique there not food from other countries.That sort of things .Personally if I need info on a hotel I would go to different sites . But yours is more to learn about unique things in Srilanka. You are doing a great job.

Hello Krishna alias Emeralda !! Nice Vlog as nice as you. Nice information about Handloom Industry. Being a Teetotaller no Comment for Drinks. Nice Morning & Evening scenery related to the Sun was seen. One thing I must tell you that: The Sun never rises & never sets. The Sun is stable at one place. Our Earth is revolving from West to East and therefore we feel that the Sun rises in the East & sets in the West. Mahatma Gandhi ( the greatest soul Gandhi ) is father of our India. Really liked the Gandhi Park. Krishna , take care both of you !!--Narendra , India.

@Sheneller I liked your video. Interesting short summary on where some batti tamils came from. Looks like everyone in Sri Lanka came from India at some stage in the last 2500 years.
@Sheneller3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Yes a lot of migration happened but there have been native folks on the island prior to Prince vijayas landing as well. So there hve been original people on the island (probably from a time it was a part of india) although sri lanka has 2500 years of documented history its history goes far beyond that as the natives ppl were already present on the arrival of the Indian prince too ☺️

Only one correction of the meaning of MATTAKKALAPPU. even the natives of Batticaloa people dos'nt know the real meaning of MATTAKKALAPPU. mostly they believed on what you got. Actually, Batticaloa is not MATTAKKALAPPU. It's called MATTUKKALAPPU by our ancestors. MATTU (மட்டு)means Alcohol or liquor KALAPPU (களப்பு) means lagoon. so, it was called MATTUKKALAPPU. Liquor Lagoon. MATTU strained MATTA then came Mattakkalappu. We have also another name... MATTUNAGAR - LIQUOR TOWN. Thanks
