John Paul is on a first name basis with everyone who may address him. I used to play music with a David Paul when I performed music on The Delaware Canal Tour Boats pulled by mules. I loved &:played many civil war songs because the Canal being open from 1832 to 1932 transported many supplies, munitions, & canon to protect the Atlantic coastal areas. Very cool & well written song. Carry on Sir & Madam, as proclaimed by the sturdy (7th Calvary). Boat Captain Jim Silk (aka Vince James)

Instant, American folk classic. Few people realise this comes from the 1940s, or was it the 1930s? 20s? 1860s? It's a distillation of all of that, pure brilliance; the story, singing and simplicity.

Dirtbike Channel I like F & F’s version better. A lot of their covers r better than the original- just my preference.
@larrysmith26384 жыл бұрын
@@richardmiller2313 I have to disagree with you. While I like F&F's cover, it lacks the depth and rawness that Joy and JP bring to it. Also, Tim and Sammie mispronounced Hollow/Holler.
@richardmiller23134 жыл бұрын
Larry Smith Well Larry- You prefer CW , I prefer F&F, as I indicated to Dirtbike Channel. Not really interested in your 2 cents. If I was - I wuuda asked for it🤣

In case anyone is thinking about putting a band together and you hope to stay that way, maybe don't name yourselves The Civil Wars, it's kind of a recipe for a few battles if not a break up.
@iamsultana4 жыл бұрын
Most of the lyrics they've written or covers they've decided to do are so foreshadowing. Their whole vibe on stage is overwhelmingly bittersweet, it's like you're in heaven but you know it won't last.
