May I just suggest--and this is *just* a suggestion--a picture of actual, Irish whiskey? I mean, all these images of bourbon are... bourbon. And while the Mackay definitely counts... It's scotch.

It's liqueur originally made with whiskey. Now it's made with neutral spirits and whiskey flavoring.

@kojin1030x1 Actually, Southern Comfort is a "whiskey-flavored" liqueur. Not whiskey. But still tasty. ;)

WHISKY (without an "E" is Irish Whisky - after the Gaelic "Uisce Baithe", meaning "Water of Life".... It is a MISINTERPRETATION of these Gaelic Words. Ditto Scots Gaelic, which is almost identically rooted in the Gaelic traditions and language. Difference is that in English Language Scottish Whiskey has a "E". Simple observation... if you're portraying an OBVIOUSLY Irish song, then you could make the effort to educate yourself a little, and get it right. It's WIHISKY, and none of those bottles contain anything resembling half decen Whisky or Whiskey for that matter. The Scottish and Irish know about good hooch - they INVENTED IT !!!

tomoole I didn't mean the "fuck off" out of anger or offence, but only as a shorthand to point out that it's pretty petty posturing to insist that any folk drinking song should adhere to the arbitrary spelling conventions of an imperial language [English]. Maybe you're right about me being little though, since it's probably doubly petty for me to nitpick your nitpicking. While we're on the topic, though, you might as well know that the Gaels were not the first to distill liquor. Catholic monks imported the idea from Italy, then the world-center of scholarly activity. Just, you know, if you're going to go about correcting petty things, try not to put nationalism over history.

Dear oh dear.... Yoyo me ould flower. You do have it bad, don't you ! And all that from a missing "e" - be wary Yoyo, touch of the Celtic temper about you. Pity you can't converse "as Gaeilge".
