Was walking my dog when Police on my back popped in my head. Clash did that right?, I said to myself. Suddenly, that whole Clash vibe just ran straight thru me. Looked it up. Sure enough. Sandinista. My old guitar players favorite album. The Clash was all their own. God bless them for staying true, mostly 😊 If Joe were still around, would they still be putting songs out?? "I've been running...."

I think the clash saved my life…. When I was in jr.high I was very sad. They were the soundtrack to my life. They were genius… I put so much into punk, it was also not my older brother🎉and sisters… music. I love Joe strummer. All of them.

Timeless, marvellous album. I'd have to slump for London Calling if I had a gun to my head (and for emotional, nostalgia reasons) but it's a close run thing. Rope would be snapping at the heels as well but, y'know, one of the greatest bands ever. Like any band, you can't really explain to others what they really meant unless you are from a certain time and place yourself. I'm not saying that these bands and their music doesn't travel of course; I'm sure people will always be able to enjoy bands like the Clash whenever and wherever but, if you are British and were born between 1955 and 1970 I don't have to explain to you what this band meant then and evoke now. Will love 'em forever!

God they are just so fukkin badass. They are so united! In bands often you have one blaring about this, and one whining about that. But these 4 cats are all ...they're the 4 horsemen.

A little late, but my favorite song from Sandinista! would have to be One More Time, which may also be my favorite Clash song. Honorable mentions would be Something About England, Look Here, and quite a few others. Love Sandinista!, warts and all.

A truly innovative album! A friend of mine, or his brother perhaps, has my Sandinsta album signed on the back by Joe, Mick, Paul & Terry C. Signed after 1982 gig at Newcastle City Hall. Alas having moved, not seen the album for many a year. If you're reading this Andy Hammond.!?

Yup, Sandinistia is my favourite album, just as the white album is my favourite beatles album. They contain the best and the worst, and everything in-between. That it is rough around the edges only adds to it's immediacy and charm.

Thanks to human scale, fan-friendly Clash Economics, if allowed to take only ONE album onto a desert island or into the Great Beyond, 'Sandinista!', with its wealth of diverse flavorings, its dreamscape soundtrack of skiffle dub folk rap jazz gospel blues rock n roll, is the only choice. The ONLY choice.

Spliff bunker. I idolise the Clash. But the Spliff Bunker is adults behaving like children. The decadent West talks about spliff bunkers while the despots in China etc just focuses on accumulating power and working hsrd.
