Homemade! I recently made my own yeasted brioche dough, deepfried my own doughnuts, then glazed in my own homemade glaze and/or my own homemade chocolate ganache. It was well worth it! DD & KK are fine, but if you do it right, homemade is the way to go.

I have always been a Krispy Kreme person. I grew up on them, and being from North Carolina, it’s pretty much been the donut place in our area for as long as I have been around. Dunkin’ came out much later, and I prefer the KK style of donut to the cake donuts of DD. 😋

You aren’t missing out on too much regarding the pizza. Pizza in Europe (especially Italy) is much better. However, for the donuts, if you ever visit the US, I recommend you try a nice KK donut. I live in France, and I can honestly say that the US just does donuts better.

This isn’t for the clash of the calories but maybe for the next calorie challenge, you should check out levain cookies. Each cookie is about 400 calories, they are amazing originally from New York but you can order them and even find them in some stores. I know you did the Ironman, and the original bakers for these cookies made the cookies to fuel them while training for the Ironman.
