Like Kristina said for leverage; my father used the death of someone I loved to try and manipulate me into meeting with him. He also told me he was getting married which sent me into a meltdown because I knew how abusive he was, he made me fear for a woman that didn’t even exist (which I later found out) all to manipulate me into inviting him back into my life. It’s a common thing that abusers do especially when they start losing control over their “victim/s” (god I hate that word), Kelly-Anne is loosing not only her job as one of the most powerful women in America (or the world; at the time), her reputation, but her hold over her daughter as well; so she did one of the worst things possible... made a copy of child porn so she would have the ultimate control/leverage/blackmail over her strong willed teenage daughter. I have a newfound respect for Tana though, gotta say. I'm glad someone is there for her, someone who is an adult herself but can still relate to her, and also someone who could take her in if she isn't successfully emancipated but needs somewhere to go without being a financial strain. Emancipation requires documented abuse or neglect, meaning the police/CPS would have to believe claudia, which obviously they just fooking don't care to, plus she needs to be able to support herself with a job without any parental support and idk how that works in rich families tbh, usually it's underprivileged kids who apply for emancipation. My comment from D'Angelo Wallace's video on this subject: It's absolutely terrifying how social services won't do anything, even though there is literal video evidence of this child being abused. I have two friends that live in abusive households. One is a lifelong friend who has been beat up multiple times by her older brothers and father and has had her belongings destroyed over the littlest inconveniences, and the mother acts like it's completely impossible that they could do that. My other friend is a closeted pansexual trans guy with super religious conservative parents who constantly need to have him in the living room during virtual learning, have threatened to take his bedroom door away several times, and used to beat him when he was just a toddler, just to name a few things. We are all 14/15 year olds so there's still quite a bit of time until they turn 18 and can run away. It breaks my heart that I can't do much, because all of us know that social services suck. I just have to see them suffer until they are old enough to leave and try to support them the best I can.

I don't understand how she isn't being charged with CP disbribution. Studying for my MSW with a focus on Child Welfare and it is exhausting thankless work. Workers are often overworked and underpaid and the burnout rates are extremely high. There isn't enough funding for child welfare and that doesn't even get into disproportionality. Workers have caseloads that are massive. The system is broken and it often breaks the people who go in wanting to fix it.

Here’s something i have similar to this I have a friend named M, she’s said things that are things that a kid shouldn’t go through. I compare her to my life, She doesn’t get a reward after something she did good, like I do. She had been thrown by her dad, hit by her siblings and emotionally abused. I see signs of trauma & abuse in herself, her mom never congratulates her on something, instead, yells at her for something she never do, or something her sister said she did. I have never come forward with this information to my parents. I don’t want to throw her parents under the bus (since they are good people the house is just awfully toxic), I don’t want to throw her into foster care. M already has therapy, severe anxiety, depression, and she thinks about “what if she committed suicide”. I want to tell my mom but, I can’t. If I said anything, Miley would know, and would hate me. 12:49 I have had this exact thing told to me and it is some of the hardest shit you can hear when you're coming from a situation like that. When you've built up the courage to reach out to someone, begging for help and safety, when you've told yourself that it will be over soon, to have that hope ripped away so fast hurts like hell. It feels like there is no hope for a future, no chance at a better life. To know that your situation is just going to get worse and there is no escaping it is fucking soul crushing. To expect so much from a child is _so_ wrong, but like she said, there isn't a better option. Its ether prepare them for the worst or just let them believe that they will be helped, then have them be destroyed when that help never comes. Even though Ive still got a couple more years of this shit I'm in a better mental state right now. I really hope that she gets the support she needs to get through this. I was abused throughout my childhood by people in my family and I relate so much to the gaslighting. It’s so detrimental after already being abused, being gaslit by the abusers. I have to see the people in my family who hurt me in a day, wish me luck. I’ve tried forgiving them and “moving on” but it’s so hard. I’m scared to talk to them or see them. The abuse happened from when I was 6 to when I was 13. I’m 18 now but it still hurts. I was diagnosed with PTSD and I’m thankful to have support from friends and family and my bf. I’ve healed some but I hate still having pain from the people who hurt me. I want to take the power back and stop feeling like it was my fault. I especially hate that they’re family, the people you’re supposed to be able to trust. I have PTSD and the dissociation that happened to her is something I relate with a lot. I remember spacing out frequently when I was being abused. I hope she gets out of there, I know how hard it is when you feel like law enforcement and even child protective devices only do so much.

CPS is extremely flawed. And I can attest to it having dealt with them multiple times. When my family would get reported when I was little they would send someone almost right away. Even brought police, (which was awful). The officer they sent didn’t deal with children very well (I’m traumatized) but that’s besides the point. In high school suddenly nobody cared anymore. I had friends that were horribly abused physically and emotionally, pretty much openly, and no one did anything! And what happened? They did run away. What happened then? They were forced to go back to their abuser. Then because of what they went through and their inability to get help they would attempt *******, or rely on drugs as a coping mechanism.

it really hurts to see how many people are in the same situation as her. I myself have a really toxic household full of emotional and sometimes physical abuse, and it has already scarred me a lot: I see a therapist, I've been diagnosed with depression, hypersensitivity, severe anxiety and panic attacks and I'm heavily struggling with anger issues and self harm. even as I'm writing this my father, who just got home, started calling me a useless brat for... nothing? I think? and i'm still one of the lucky ones, who experienced "lighter" abuse and have a really supportive person in their lives that has their back when shit goes bad

Honestly, it's really hard to see this happen to someone else, but also comforting to me because I've been in an abusive household like that. I was gaslighted, manipulated, abused mentally, emotionally, verbally, physically, I was cussed out on multiple occasions for not doing something right or for moving too slow or just for small things like that. It's so hard being in a household like that, but I support her and I am so happy she was brave enough to speak out against her abuser. I know it's not for attention or likes or anything like that. She just needs help, but the people who are supposed to help her are blaming her for something out of her control. We are here. I was 12 and I got my school to vall CPS on my mom. They asked me if I felt safe to go home. I told them I didn't. And I was still forced to get on the bus to go home. That night mom got a phone call asking about it. She denied it. And then ripped up my personal journal. And forced my siblings to lie in their interviews. All because the system allows for parents to be notified of a surprise check in. And since we were adopted my mom had a clean record 5 years prior. 13 years later I did not believe I could get out on myown and she attempted to strangle me. The abuse got worse and everyone including the school treated me like a liar. Even though I had bruises. Now I know that it was because I was a year too late.

This situation is so fucking heartbreaking. Parents are supposed to love you and protect you and make sure that you're safe not terrorize you. I remember how I felt when I was being abused by my parents when I was a teenager and it hurts me so much to see Claudia so visibly distraught and going through so much abuse. I work at a gas station and it was during summer by the beach. Tell me why this guy left his kid in the car for about 2 hours refuse for our security company to break the window. Yes!!! Giving abusers the benefit of the doubt is a long standing tradition for some foolish reason. SO many people think this means they are being fair to both sides, which is really just excusing the abuser because they relate to them in some way. There's a reason why all the child endangerment reporting training I took when I worked with youth had titles like "put the child first training" and "believe the child" or "believe the victim training". It infuriates me that as a teenager there's even less help for her because she's considered "old enough" to run away. One of my besties works in youth homelessness (here in Canada, cuz we have this problem too) and she's told me many of these stories; this crack the teens fall through is precisely why they're so highly at risk. ♡ tips for if youre sick♡ 1. Apples are better than oranges when youre sick. The orange juice is supposed to be before youre sick, apples are when youre sick! 2. If you have a sore throat, make some hot tea, soup, broth, etc. and put in as much cayenne pepper as you can handle. Itll burn for the first few sips, but itll end up numbing your throat relatively quickly. 3. Pineapple juice can also make your throat feel better, and if im not mistaking, can help reduce mucus/nasal congestion. 4. If you have a lot of mucus, dont eat a lot of dairy, pasta, bread, starch, etc. Stick to lean proteins, fruits, and veggies. ♡ hope you feel better ♡
