As for the symmetry of the Dorian scale it has the same intervallic structure both ascending and descending. Which make it feel kind of neutral i guess. Same thing with the fifth mode of melodic minor, mixolydian b6 or whatever.

This is a great subject for lessons, Mikko. Rhythm is numéro uno in my book. I'd love to get into your patreon lessons and videos but these have been difficult times. I do hope we can start gigging and teaching private lessons in the not too distant future. Stay safe man!

@@Mikkokosmos It's always a pleasure following your videos, Mikko. Not true of so many other KZbin channels! I still review many of your older videos, there's so much relevant information all in one spot. Keep up the great work 👍 👏

Miles Okazaki has such a great mind. The fundamentals of guitar has been such a transformative book for me. It really made me realize how little I know about the instrument and the vast importance of rhythm for guitarists. Like seriously, I kind of regard the guitar as a percussion instrument with pitches at this point. Have you been exploring the rhythmic tiling thing he describes in the book? I love the concept but I find it kind of hard to improvise with naturally. Miles does it on the tune Wheel on the Figurations record. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on incorporating those kind of ideas into your playing.

Dorian IS a symmetric Scale (WHWWWHW or 2122212) - the intervals going up are the same going down!

What a great rhythmic concept! I see you're using the Quilter 101 Reverb head + Blockdock 10 combo. I've been thinking of getting one of these myself... Is that amp+head combo loud enough for solo guitar gigs? sounds real nice when you play it!

Succotash, as I recall, is basically corn and lima beans and there may be other things in there too.
