Nice video! The only thing I’d say is this should have been transcribed for Eb Trumpet since that’s what Andre is playing on. It’s the standard instrument for the trumpet concertos of the classical period.

Why did you transcribe the cadenza in Bb if there whole concerto is in Eb?? BTW, Maurice André will always be in our hearts, his tone is so lyric and clean, truly amazing!!
@karayuschij
@karayuschij Жыл бұрын
Originally, the cadenza was a part where the soloist could play whatever he wanted, so, yes, it's a solo improvisation. Sometimes, the cadenza is also written by the author, in which case it's no longer really an improvised solo, even if the soloist still has freedom of interpretation (tempo, articulation, etc.). Then, the most famous (improvised) cadenzas were transcribed and became part of the piece, so it's still a solo, in the sense that the performer plays alone (which is the definition of the Italian word "solo”), but not a solo improvisation.

Love all your vids, but also love not having the follow line! I assume most watching this channel can somewhat read music, but for me personally it's that I'm always listening through Bluetooth and there's a like ~100ms delay that's just noticeable from the red line not matching the beats I was hearing. Keep up the awesome stuff!

@PrismaticaDev
@PrismaticaDev Жыл бұрын
I think he's just moving the instrument to create vibrato by altering his contact with the mouthpiece. I'm not a trumpet player but I don't think there's any room in the valves for the keys to jiggle haha

A tromolo on a trumpet is rapidly alternating the fingerings of a note of the same pitch, so because this is between different notes it's a trill.
@trptmbalmer
@trptmbalmer Жыл бұрын
Trills. Trills are when you rapidly alternate between the given note and the upper (or rarely, the lower) neighbor pitch of the key you're in. So, if you have a trill written on a G and you're in the key of F, you alternate between G and A. Tremolos are when you alternate between the two printed pitches on the score. I've seen tremolos in brass playing, but they're more common in woodwinds, and *significantly* more common in strings and piano.
