Excellent work once again matt! You told it was great respect and dignity. Right where I grew up too! I’ll be covering that cemetery very soon with then price of Salford - Prince lobengula about 100 yards from where you filmed at agecroft cem. Keep these videos coming!👏🏼

As a kid I lived on Dorchester Rd in Swinton, I remember the railway cutting between it and Overdale being infilled.... Regards from a Salfordian now living in rural Ireland.

Some of my ancestors worked in these mines. I grew up not far away from here. I remember being taught about the disaster at school. Astley Green is a few miles down the road. There's a mining museum there.

Thanks for watching, and letting me know about Astley Green. Might head there and have a look. 🙂👍

Very interesting video matt. I like the Pit pony memorial . Sadly many people died in these places ⚘

Yeah. It was really interesting finding the ruins in the woods. And, you're right, in the Graveyard with the 64 victims, we found gravestones mentioning deaths at other mines. A risky job indeed

I think the boat you came across is where Fletcher's canal used to run and they'd take the coal down to the Bolton and Bury canal which then took it down to the Bridgewater canal and then on to Manchester and Salford
