Looking back as an adult. I think the teacher was pretty rude to Claire. It is her first day, its normal to get lost. I don't think he should be working an all girl school, if he has an issue of telling a girl that its her time of the month. Plus I feel like not everyone would find what happened to Claire funny esp if she was the new girl. My cousin went to an all girl school. She said couple of girls would offer her a sweater until she got to the nurse office

I agree! The art teacher was so unnecessary rude to her that she got lost on her first day. He was so sarcastic and blunt about it. I would have let him have it.
