I set them in around 18inches and tamp in soil, so no cement used.

@sonjag.1511 I used standard 4x4 inch pine posts, I haven't treated them , I feel they'll last a long time anyway. It wouldn't hurt to treat them, but I don't.

the milling marks are how they pressure treat the post ....

Thanks, great to know. I also have some without the marks that are also pressure treated. Different Mills I guess.
