Captain Rex’s men were surrendered by Battle droids, he knew that if he made one mistake, it could cost the lives of his men, his friends, his brothers. Rex threw an EMP grenade at a squad of Battle droids, and then he fired his blasters as fast as humanly possible. Rex swore under his breath, as the hodes of Battle droids were advancing towards the village, Rex swore under his breath. He then heard the sound of a LAAT/I gunship. Rex couldn't believe it, Reinforcements have arrived, despite all odds and a blockade. The Gunship’s doors opened and out stepped Delta Squad, Rex know all of the commandos in Delta Squad, He know that the red one was Sev(RC-1207), the green one was Fixer Captain Rex sat at his desk, staring at the holoprojector as the image of chancellor palpatine flickered in front of him. He couldn't believe the words he was hearing- the order to execute all the jedi. Order 66. It went against everything he had been trained to do, everything he believed in. “Yes my lord” Rex said, forcing himself to keep his voice steady. “It will be done” He watched as Palpatine’s image faded away, then let out a sigh of relief. He had done it.. He had managed to keep his true intentions hidden. - But he knew he couldn't rest easy just yet. He had to make sure all of the other clones in the Grand Army of the Republic had also removed their inhibitor chips. It was the only way they would be able to resist the programming and stand by their Jedi brothers and sisters. Rex quickly scribbled a note in his notebook, recounting the events of the day. He knew it was important to record everything, to make sure the truth was never forgotten. As he wrote, he was startled by the sound of a clone singing. It was the old Mandalorian song, “Vode An”. The words brought back memories of his training on Kamino, where he and his brothers had learned the song and the meaning of brotherhood. He couldn’t help but wonder what his brothers on Kamino were doing, what they were seeing. Were they also resisting the programming and standing by their Jedi commanders? Or had they fallen victim to the insidious programming of Order 66? As the song faded, Rex made a vow to do everything in his power to project the Jedi and restore peace to the galaxy. It was a duty he took seriously, and one he knew he would carry with him for the rest of his days.

Toward the end of the War the 501st was split into two groups I was put in command after Rex left with Commander Tano, and the rest of us left with Generals Skywalker and Kenobi. A few days later we received a transmission telling us the jedi had betrayed the republic, and to execute order 66. We left just after sundown, it was a silent trip, a few of the the boys were struggling, but we didn't ask and told them to get it together. Nobody said anything. Not when we landed at the temple, not when we marched up those steps..and not when Lord Vader was leading this assault...not a word... -Appo

it was a sad day, clones firing upon their friends, the people who cared for their safety... i remember watching masters and padawans being killed, shot multiple times after they died to make sure they wouldn't move permanently.... my master, was killed, i knew the clone well.... i was no normal jedi, my robes matched my lightsaber, they were both pink, i was always made fun of because of it, but i was stronger in more ways than one... I will always remember how Rex and I did target practice after a battle. Ha, aw man, he was fun to be around. i found out that, i couldn't die, not permanently at least, so in 1979 I met my girlfriend, not knowing she would become so, but, my body was broken, in 1982 I died due to an incident in a pizzeria, possessed this animatronic body, found my human one and my beloveds, put them against the wall that awful room, and in 1992 found her again, now we have been together for 31 years, and the only way that the galaxies would EVER see my blade, was if I ABSOLUTELY need to use it... it hides in a place nobody will EVER find... I miss my fellow jedi, my clone friends.... i wish i could bring them back.... but you know my name already. but now you will know, I AM the Pink Jedi, a name that I left behind long ago....

The poor B-1 battledroids deserved a sad song too! they were the definition of cannon fodder. their thin bodies completly unsuited to real combat. they felt compeltly out of their depth in every battle and just got used as shields or cheap comic relief. They showed fear, pain and resignation, all sorts of very human emotions and often just got smashed aside by the more powerful droids when in the way.

its the age men start crying for such things . younger peoples dont get the meaning of lot of things and rarely get emotional listening a song or reading something tragic but once you reach a certain age it become common . especially peoples with sadness and solitude and pain in their hearts they become more sensitive or develop a soft spot that can be touched by such things . writers can too aim to hit that spot.

I love that more somber almost Gregorian choral version of Vode An. I wish we could have a CW like series dedicated to Republic Commandos from old canon with tying up loose ends. I can imagine this piece being played during the time Delta squad processes the disappearance of Sev. Or during the memorial to first casualties during battle of Geonosis. Possibilities are limitless once the greedy mouse is caged.

Hearing this brings inages of the 332nd helmets on those posts in the snow next to the destroyed abandoned ship and thinking about how almost none of the clones ever had a fenuine choice in life. Born to fight and die in a war you never wanted to follow leaders you nevwr knew to save people you never met and for what to be discarded like a broken tool

@@elpedka157 well was that a matter of genuine honor or the surcumstances they were in and propaganda they were preached since birth. I don't doubt for a second many clones genuinely were proud like Cody and rex, but we've definitely seen cases where they have doubts about the war. Remember in the earlier season I forget which one, that one clone who deserted and started a family.

The bad batch gave this mix weight. How the series as empathised that the clones who once heroes of the grand army of the republic are now nothing more than droids that are in Palpatines way. The heroes of the clone wars have become nothing more that experimental subjects. Imprisoned by the very people the fought for.
