When this launched height restrictions were less strict. I was 2 years old and allowed to sit on my mothers lap in the front of the boat. Being perhaps a bit silly and first time rider they never knew about the drop in the dark. I was launched out of the boat upwards and forwards but somehow was yanked back into the ride mid drop by the use of child reigns/straps. The kid sat on the lap 6.29 is perfect example of it. I still have my on ride photo from 1989. The guy gave you a ticket at the top of drop. You went to kiosk paid the person and then it took about 3/4 weeks to arrive in the post. You never got a preview and just had to chance it was good!

It really stood out to me at the beginning when the guy was talking about how they didn't want to just imitate Disney and needed to do something "more solid" for the British audience compared to an American one. It seems to me that a lot of times when people critique Disney for being artificial or contrived, they're not criticizing Disney parks themselves, as opposed to the stereotypes of Disney parks or the experience of many of their crasser imitators. Disney has QUITE a lot to be critiqued about, but theming and design in the parks is (generally) not one of them. (I'm not addressing the back-handed insult of Americans as provincial easily satisfied consumers because all us Anglophone countries talk shite about each other.) XD

My one and only log fume is the one at six flags ga and I still adore it, but my first water ride(s) as a kid was at Sesame Place in langhorne pa !! My favorite ride there was the closest thing to a log fume there where you sit in one huge donut with a ton of people and make your way down a big long slide that had a giant rubber ducky on top, smiling as it spat out water that you might go through at the very beginning of the ride!

As much as I love Wicker Man I wish they could have positioned it elsewhere, there’s not enough relaxing family rides in towers, this complemented the rapids so well... sorely missed and remember it being highly popular ‘til the end :(

Back in 1997 when i was 7, me and my family stayed for two nights at the newly opened hotel at Alton Towers. When i was standing in the queue for the log flume i was eating a lolly and two wasps flew into my mouth and stung me three times. I turned to my mum with a swollen tongue and said, if i remember correctly, "muhdgurjig" and she replied "oh silly you've bit your tongue" and my brother looking over her shoulder said "no... i think i can see wasps in there" at which point my mum started to freak out slightly and my brother put his hand in and promptly pulled them out. My mum calmed down and then refused to leave the queue because we had already been waiting for an hour. Side fact: on the same holiday my sister chipped her tooth riding the corkscrew. Great video brought back a lot of memories!

I never rode the flume sadly. When i was really young i walked up to the measuring board and i was just too short. I had to sit and wait for my parents and sisters to get off. i wasn't able to go on it because some stuff happened with my family and we weren't able to go. When we next went, the flume was shut. Now, Wicker Man stands in its place and i really enjoy it with all its theming and stuff! but im really sad i didnt get to ride the flume. Another great Alton Expedition by the way!

Fabulous video!! I am 56 I loved Blackpools flume, and I loved Alton Towers log flume too. I rode both with my husband, when he was my boyfriend, then fiance, then married and later with our children! So many memories! And I treasure my ride photos! The first time the rubber duck appeared quacking in the dark I almost jumped out the bathtub, probably one of the biggest jump scares to date! The log flume at Drayton Manor is my favourite- I remember being blown away by the theme-ing, especially through the queue. The light house had sprawling stacks of books above you and there was a fake cat asleep in a pile of rope and fake barnacles etc and then animatronic sailer at the start of the ride. Was the first majorly themed English ride that I remember.

I'm definitely a fan of log flumes. Having part of my childhood in Fort Worth, Tx, I rode the Six Flags log flume its 2nd or 3rd year. It was a huge hit and caused Six Flags' attendance to grow exponentially in a short span of years. Thanks for the great video!

Log flumes have always been one of my favorite rides. Timber Mountain Log Ride at Knotts Berry Farm and El Aserradero at Six Flags over Texas were my first experiences and I have loved them ever since.

When I was there in 2006 on a trip to ride roller coasters (I’m from the USA) some friends literally dragged me on “the Bathtub Ride”. I complained that it looked like any other old, boring log flume. But they insisted, and I finally gave in, just to shut them up. Damn duck scared the sh*t outta me!!!

That goddamn duck 😂😂 I did love the theme though weirdly. It was a strange one to go with as it didn't fit anywhere but I just found that all the more amusing. I really miss having log flumes in the UK now. The only one I've ridden since the Flume closed in this country is the one at Great Yarmouth, good old soaker that one xD. Ripsaw Falls in Universal last year took first as my favourite but I love the classics.

The log flumes at Bobbejaanland are one of the best. Espescially the one inside with the temple jungle theme! Maybe it was the first log flume inside of the world. Also Chipas at Phantasialand is great with his big drop at the end.

BG Williamsburg just did a major renovation of their log flume. Sea World spent a lot of PR to make sure people knew it was only a restoration as they started draining the ride and removing the track. Rode it last year and it's like riding a brand new log flume. Love it.

The Flume had an extra special place in our heart as it was where I proposed to my Girlfriend. I asked her just at the last drop and we got the photo for it. 2022 is now our 10 year wedding anniversary 😊
