Thanks for the review, Bruce. SPB075J1 is long since sold out and I had to search for a long time to find one in new condition. Despite having to pay premium, I am so happy with this watch. Each dial is a unique piece of art, minor imperfections and all. Now, where to find SPB073J1 😁

Love the dial but, already having a 6R15 watch, I cannot justify myself until Seiko releases new presage models with the 6R35 movement.
@BruceWilliams5 жыл бұрын
I am looking forward to checking that movement out as well
@DJRWatchRolls5 жыл бұрын
Some of their dress watches carry the thinner 6L35 movement which I believe is 28,800 bph. The new 6R35 is great with its 70 hour power reserve but it’s thicker and has a slower beat (21,600 bph) compared to the 6L35.
@qnxuxamasesalminger5 жыл бұрын
@@DJRWatchRolls the 6L35 is marvelous, albeit limited in power reserve
@jonnieinbangkok5 жыл бұрын
@@DJRWatchRolls Most of the finest watchmakers/brands use 3 hertz (21,600 VPH) or less movements, not 4 hertz, in their watches. Higher frequency doesn't mean higher quality.
@DJRWatchRolls5 жыл бұрын
Jonnie Bangkok: Sorry I’m confused. Is a 21,600 bph movement not 6 hz (6 beats per second) while a 28,800 bph movement (like an ETA 2824) not a 8 Hz (8 ticks per second)? I’m not sure how you get 3 Hz unless I’m misunderstanding something.

Absolutely beautiful watch. Thanks for sharing. The only thing that erks me, and it may just be me, but I dislike Roman numerals and than a standard numeral for the date window. For this watch, no date window would have made the dial stand out even more than it already does.

Two years after this review, I have a used but almost mint SPB073J1 on the way. Bought it for USD920.

I have one, purchased from HODINKEE, the dial is why I bought it, it just sucked me in, I was smitten; now I’m thinking of selling it, not that I don’t love it but after watching all these videos you keep making I would love to get an Omega Seamaster or a Rolex DJ. I love Seiko and have a few in my collection but I really want an Omega or Rolex.
@josejoaquinmiguel70995 жыл бұрын
They should have use the 6l35 for this kind of dial and it will make the watch slimmer.

Its beautiful but in my opinion the Seiko SARX029 Urushi is nicer with gold hands and gold thread on the genuine black alligator strap and beautiful hand painted black laquer Urushi dial. Its also cheaper than the Seiko SPB075 as its not a limited edition. Check it out

I've pulled the trigger and ordered one of probably the last ones here in Germany. Really hope (at least moneywise) that this will complete my new collection (Speedmaster, Black Bay). Nice review!
@asko71135 жыл бұрын
Whattobuy?...did you receive the Presage yet? how do you like it? I'm curious because as an owner of this watch I almost wish I had waited until I had bought a Speedmaster or Black Bay first. It was the amazing blue dial that captured me and I couldn't resist. However I find it very dressy and don't wear it as often as I thought i would...btw, which Speedmaster and Black Bay do you own?
@watchyouwant16175 жыл бұрын
@Johannes Finn: on my channel is a short review with the reasons I decided to send this watch back in the end. I think it is a nice watch but a little bit too dressy for me and the blue isn’t that awesome in artificial lighting conditions. In sunlight it is just awesome! I have the Speedmaster Professional with Hesalit and I think that this is one of the best bang per buck watches. Since Rolex’ prices went totally nuts I think the Speedmaster will sooner or later also increase in price (the last price increase was this year, I think). In the end I also send the Tudor Black Bay Black back, because it is in my opinion too boring. I realized that I wanted something with a little bit more going on on the dial and therefore I bought a Sinn 903 St BE. I will review it on my channel soon. Best regards from Germany
@asko71135 жыл бұрын
Whattobuy ? I finally tried on a Speedmaster Professional and the FOIS and I’d be happy with either but there’s something about the Professional and it fit really well on my 6.75” wrist. The bracelet is amazing too! The Sinn 903 St BE is a gorgeous watch and something I’d love to try on. Best

This is a good example of how Japanese design is different than Swiss, and why I prefer Japanese designs with few exceptions of course: the Swiss would have never put white indices and hands on this watch. And if you look at anything from the cheapest Seiko 5 to their entry divers up until GS, they have a design language that you just cannot find with Swiss watches (which have their own and some people prefer it)
