@lostandfound51452 жыл бұрын
@@andrzejcz.3012 you realize this man has a severe disability, right? He clearly has the intellect of a child and obviously nobody is taking care of this man. He is probably just intelligent enough to function without someone minding him all the time, but he talks like a 7 yr old child. He isn’t hurting anyone. Just let him pretend he is good at something and competent at something because the reality is he is incompetent at everything and that is hard to live with. Let the man have his denial and his fun.
@andrzejcz.30122 жыл бұрын
@@lostandfound5145 would you let him be a bus driver or a carer for children? Because he's having a "fun" ?!? Its a joke. People spend years to prep for show like that and it's disrespectfull for other competitors. If you are that "good and welling" create a charity and start to organise competitions and Olympics for people like that. He simply didn't go to any other competitions like "Olympics" because federation told him simply -" f*** off you are not qualified". Only reason his on the bodybuilding stage because federations care only about the money and they more then happy to take money even from him. Because of people thinking like you people are more and more apologetic, because no body have a balls to say how it really is. Everybody are "upset" or "offended". It is obvious that you have no clue how much dedication, hours and years of training goes to any type of sport - it's the same as much people put in to the education. So don't try sell a dram - be real! I don't care if he's disabled or not or what ever color or rase he is - If he's not prepared for bodybuilding competition, he shuouldnt be on that stage!!
@lostandfound51452 жыл бұрын
@@andrzejcz.3012 what’s funny is that you’re the one that is offended, here. You’re the one that can’t stand someone else participating because you somehow think it takes away from you. That is so odd that you think that. Your very first argument is illogical. A bus driver operates a complicated vehicle and puts other peoples safety at risk. And a mentally handicapped person cannot care for children. This is just a bunch of men flexing on stage and dancing. His participation does not endanger anyone. The only thing being endangered is your personal sensitivity to the validity of this sport. That is a “you” problem. So you honestly tell yourself that I’ve never done any serious sport simply because I disagree with you? That is a strange belief. Yes, I know exactly how much effort and dedication goes into sports of all sorts, to include bodybuilding. And I still believe this man has every right to participate at the entry level competitions. The legitimate competitors will advance beyond this base level and they will get their due rewards for their hard work. I would object if a handicapped man won the competition if he did not actually deserve to win on the merits of his skill. Because that would take the title away from someone who deserves the win and advancement. But this guy is competing at the lowest possible level and he is enjoying his limited capacity life. Have some compassion, my man. Honestly, I think you need to take a hard look into why you’re so sensitive that you would take someone else’s joy away and their desire to do the sport you love at their best possible level. What is going on that is causing you to feel so insecure and invalidated about this sport? Had anyone treated you like the sport is somehow stupid or that you’re stupid for loving this sport? Had that made you sensitive to feeling like this is a serious, authentic sport worthy of respect and therefore you’re terribly sensitive? I think maybe you need to consider that if someone has caused you to be sensitive you could recognize that they’re an abusive asshole for being a judgmental dick about something that gives you happiness, health and meaning in life. Those kinds of people are douches and you shouldn’t let them tear you down. If someone is trying to take your respect away and your happiness away by criticizing or putting down or holding contempt for the sport you dedicate yourself to, cut that bastard out of your life. Or at least recognize that their criticism is likely nothing more than projection. They’re just angry that they don’t have what it takes to work that hard and learn all the science behind it and train with that kind of self discipline. That’s why they put it down. And that lack of self awareness is pretty sad. Don’t let it make you feel sensitive and then you will not feel this way about a mentally challenged person or even small children wanting to be just like you and they want to play pretend at doing this like a real man. In this case, this man will never have the chance to be a full grown man mentally. He will never have the chance at the kind of life you have the opportunity to live. That is sad. Let him pretend to be like the people he admires. He isn’t making a mockery of you, he is copying you because he admires the sport and those who compete. Let him share your joy. He isn’t taking pleasure away from you in reality, once you get past your incorrect mental framing of the situation, once you validate and respect your decision to be in this sport, then you will only feel it is sort of sad and sweet that this man wants so badly to be a part of something that he’ll only ever get the smallest taste of. He’ll never advance. Let him play and have fun. And you move on to the higher levels if you deserve to, and you’ll have your serious competitions with those that have the skill, too.

@MikePulcinellaVideo6 жыл бұрын
Well, think about it his way...imagine you spent 16 weeks working very hard on a large landscape painting and it gets hung in a gallery. Then imagine they hang a random scribble made by a child next to your painting. Everyone knows the child's scribble is not going win the blue ribbon, but most people laugh and giggle and think it's so cute that they don't really pay attention to your art the way it deserves. Would you feel disrespected or cheated in some way?
@michaeltoscano44916 жыл бұрын
It is disrespectful. Those other guys worked hard get there. Making a mockery of their work ethic. There are tons of "disabled" guys who look 100x better than that guy anyway. No-one says he can't live in his delusion and think he's whatever he wants to be. But that doesn't make him a bodybuilder. And he doesn't below on stage. Just like Genova doesn't belong on stage.
@ThePyranthos6 жыл бұрын
No, contrary to what the simpletons below/above said, its not disrespectful to let him compete. This is an entry level event, meaning anyone has a chance of passing and moving on to the next stage. It would be disrespectful to the other 'bodybuilders' if he won and was passed through over them though. he has the desire to enter, that gives him the right... He does not have the body to stay in though, so as long as he doesn't get past the qualifiers so to speak, then theres no harm to anyone. Its more disrespectful if they didnt let him have the same chance as everyone else, the fact that he clearly hasnt put in the work is just reason to not let him advance... nothing more. People saying he humiliates himself.. Does he look humiliated? no, he is unphased. The only ones that think hes humiliating himself, are the ones passing judgement, and even the judges, the ones supposed to do so, are being classier than half the comments posted regarding this., as well as the judgemental douche of an interviewer.. Leave the dude the fuck alone and let him do his thing. hes clearly already got enough shit in his life without people telling him what he can and cant, should or shouldnt do, when its not something thats hurting a single damn person. Furthermore, if it makes him happy, good for him! heres the disrespectful part, making a mockery of a disabled/mentally off individual with a video such as this.. Like seriously... the minute they realized dude had such issues, this video should of been shit canned... such bad taste... shame on you uploader.

Kinda think he should be asked to leave, or maybe asked if he has someone they could call. On the other hand if its open then its open and anyone can come...
@robr23036 жыл бұрын
It's a local competition. Far from the pinnacle. Unfit, out of shape athletes entering the show isn't hurting anyone. Someone who is serious about bodybuilding will be moving away from local shows and into national ones anyway.

I don't see why they call him clueless. I can tell he is a very well read person in this sport. Very seriously, he seems to have a unique system that works for himself and probably nobody else. For example, I've seen a lot worse 52 years old. And best of all he clearly means well and seems sincere.

@BaconMaken8 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, nothing is wrong with letting Steve here compete in entry level competitions. For starters, bodybuilding competitions aren't really a sport. Unlike other sports, he's not risking his safety with his inexperience here. Also, as you said this is the entry level competitions. There's not much of a point in having prerequisites for what is already supposed to be the prerequisites. Delusional people like Steve get to have fun and the crowd gets a good chuckle. No harm done.

More like a documentary of people who enter body building contests but are not stage ready. Steve happens to be the one guy that he has footage of because Steve went ahead and talked to him.
@shinjig10 жыл бұрын
who is mocking this guy? There wasn't any mocking going on in this video. Did anyone go over to him and mimic him? Do someone do it behind his back? Was it pointed out that he was indeed "clueless" as a bodybuilder? Yes, though everyone filmed kept it civil and didn't call him out while he was on stage or even on the floor when he was trying his best to impress everyone that would talk to him. If anything they supported him. How do you know that he has mental issues? Or do being nervous and having a speech impediment constitute as a "mental issue"?
@DrunkBastard9 жыл бұрын
akithesniper How did he mock him? Pointing out that he hadn't applied the things he was talking about to himself is mocking? It's a fact.

Just rewatched this (hopped over from IG!)and saw that I made a comment some time ago. I feel the same way now as I did then! Additionally, I think Steve has ASD. So in general, people tend not to be unkind (to his face), because, well, what would be the point? He's proud of what knowledge he has and believes he's rockin' some abs! Would I be pissed if someone like that was competing with me? 🤷He THINKS he's out in the work, so... Great video!

The look on the face of the fellow competitors says it all. Sad that people have to suffer such disorders, strange that the promotions would allow them on stage, and puzzling that so many viewers of this video find such an exposé video to be insulting. The people these poor men were posing for were laughing AT them. it's not empowering to let them be there, it's making them public victims of their disabilities for the sake of the crowd's laughter. The only plus side is that mentally handicapped individuals are unlikely to be injured during the course of a bodybuilding show... Well, unless they get tempted to try and lift something.

jon-paul nielsen just because he's a nice guy doesn't mean he should be on a bodybuilding stage. The whole point in being there is to showcase years of dedication hard work and diet. He's just taking a space away from someone who should be there. I think it's wrong and the guy shouldn't be kept oblivious to the fact that he doesn't have a good physique otherwise he'll continue to act quite pretentious and never seek the adequate knowledge to better his body.

jon-paul nielsen Maybe you should hold off calling people ignorant when you yourself, was being ignorant
@timithy45698 жыл бұрын
? +Darren Lefevre ? Did you really just tell a person that they were being ignorant, and as such they should hold off on calling people ignorant? Logically speaking, that means that you shouldn't be calling him ignorant, unless you are assuredly not being ignorant (Which is easily of ignorance [We are ignorant of on all subjects to a degree]). Wanted to bring up that you aren't following your own advice. It was kinda funny. It also made me put my hands on my head as my brain had to do a few mental gymnastics. EDIT: Humm, actually if you were specifically posing the question and weren't suggesting that jon-paul nielsen was ignorant, then I guess that would be an interesting question. In that light, I believe that the question you proposed is a question that we should all ask ourselves. Personally I believe people shouldn't call others ignorant, it's quite ineffective. Those that do, I believe do it out of their own ignorance. Those who are ignorant, call others ignorant. Those who aren't ignorant, don't and shouldn't (if they do, they are ignorant).

Keith Byrne are you kidding me? so you would let your sick relative make an embarrassment of himself on TV so thousands of people can laugh at him? Thats some twisted mindset you have right there. What if a mentally ill person has a dream of becoming an expert in guns are you going to buy him one so he can go trigger happy on his friends and family? Funny or not people will laugh and wonder why they let him go up there.
