Weeks in darkness. A freezing inferno. Some thrive, others slowly lose their minds. That is the Arctic town of Kirkenes, Norway. One of the coldest places in Europe. Join me to the tourist attraction of Kirkenes, Arctic Norway.

Visited the town in 1972 and 73. When the mining operation was running. Enjoyed my brief stays there, but it was the summer months. Yes the winters look hard but the population are accustomed to it. I wouldn't mind another trip up there. Also used to visit Narvik, enjoyed that as well. Nice video.

I lived there for the winter season about 5 years ago. I worked at the Snow Hotel as a Dog Musher. I adopted a Husky whilst there and had to drive my VW Polo from Sussex in England to Kirkenes and back to get the dog to England as you could not fly dogs from Norway to the UK. Something I was unaware of at the time. That's the same distance and driving from Holland to India. The dog has now racked up 22 countries on his travels having started his life on the end of a two metre chain.

The more content you put out (That's honest and actuate) The more eye's you open. Just in two videos I've seen, I've noticed you share what you observe, and may have more too say but don't. Looks like great skiing! Last few years some California resorts were open on the 4th of July. Earlier & later, with new cold and snow total records. I think you know. When the Ocean is not enough to regulate Norway, you'll need "Dugnad" from everyone to get threw it. -.6F average for years now, and -.2 was the yearly average. But it's warmer right. The summer's are longer as they claim. Everything that is warm will become colder, not hotter. More snow coming, when it should be rain. I hope summer comes soon for you. Stay warm and safe.

@@sandvenexplorer By the way, you know you have two major accomplishments to be proud of. Angelina Jordan and You ran Antifa out of your country! The rest of the world should take notes on how you got rid of Antifa! Smart people. I worry about this cold cycle. I have a feeling based on cycles, this may be like the Maunder minimum. Global lying or stealing, has left us unprepared for farming in the cold! We are having seed shortages this year, and no one knows.

Eh theres alot of ppl out in the summer, so wrong there. The mine is closed because of a missed plan about how to get Iron out (open or underground) mine. Money ran out under a stupid aministration. And the city is dead after 16:00 when small shops close for the day.
