I just LOVED this scene as a kid. I love it even more now as a young adult. So satisfying to see McQueen go back and take the lead so casually. Can't forget the callback to Hudsons technique. Cars truly is a pixar classic. Not *hood.* Pixar classic.

@@PaulRodela I disagree. The ending was disappointing and could have been better, but it's an ending. Until the disney plus show was announced. Although I love ALL cars movies, I couldn't imagine the series ending on Cars 2 and I'm sure you couldn't either.

That"s exactly how it is, first time you do it exiting highway you are scared of bad initiation, after 3 second you realize your initiation was perfect therefor you are focused on keeping the line and when you are about 5 seconds in (1 / 3) of the road you feel only how much fun it is and how sick it looks from the outside

The music in this scene is amazing, it’s Doc’s theme from when he was racing in the dirt. It’s in a different key to match the score that was currently being played. This gave a sense of familiarity to how Doc races but it’s by someone else. I just love it! I’m sad they didn’t use that or any motifs from Doc’s theme anywhere in Cars 3 cuz it would’ve been so good
