Can't express enough how much I appreciate your channel. Am not a Kenyan myself but a young Swede who relocated to Kenya in 2019. And have ever since been searching for a channel which can provide me some good content about and off Kenya (Both recent history aswell as pre colonial period) And your channel have by far not just lived up to my expectations but also gone even further in terms of what a "good" channel is. I've learned so much and can today even sit down with a group of Native Kenyans and engage in discussions regarding Kenya's history as a nation aswell as Kenya's political sphere. Looking forward to keep learning more from you. And would not mind supporting you thru an Mpesa donation. With utmost respect//

Kenyan Historian,you have opened the way for truths in kenyan politics rather than waiting for other to show us.I have some view points to highlight regarding the current state of our politics; 1.Kibaki had problems with raila for a long time since his election until the country was plunged into fighting,kibaki became a gentleman and decided to share the government with him raila whom by then he had WR as his close friend.PNU side hugged a plan to grab wr from him by introducing motion of impeachment from the ministry of agriculture,but some mt kenya east legislators opposed it and went down.Raila lost a soldier.Towards 2012 kibaki picked Ruto as preferred partner for Uhuru and retired well 2.ICC became a play ground for raila and his hope was that both (uhuru and ruto )be prosecuted so that his way become easy for presidency which never saw the light of the day.Raila focused on wealth of kenyatta family as his campaign tool but later it was not sinking to their support bases strongholds of r.valley and central.Raila continued with his onslaught until against uhuru,but the most vital pivot was DP. 3.Western countries,press,civil societies tried their way to support raila's push but was not also sinking to african way of thinking. 4.2022 elections will be very hotly contested period because the two fores became friends in unclear way through handshake with the fallen BBI agenda which could have been used to whip ruto's knees.But his calculations remain of a high notch.Uhuru used wrong and unintelligent people like murathe to fight a sharp person noy knowing the level of madness differ in human nature.Handshake was good but when bbi came in things went south. My personal view is if uhuru wants to make Raila the president let him leave raila to campaign against ruto alone,because whenever he speaks many voters hibernate against raila.I stand to be corrected.

The biggest mistake Uhuru made was not implementing 70% of BBI which really touched on the issues affecting Kenyans lives and addressing the systematic problems facing on how govt is run in as far as corruption, waste and mismanagment of resources and those resources directed at easing burdens on Kenyan lives. If the handshake just dealt on these issues, Everyone would have been in agreement on this, Uhuru had majority of Mps from jubilee and ODM to pass legislation on these issues. But once BBI introduced positions of leadership touching on the presidency, it was seen as a direct threat towards the VP by way of clipping his wings if he became President because in peoples eyes ruto was seen as the next successor to Uhuru. And these changes and some, required matters touching on the constitution. The political part of BBI was seen as one benefitting Raila than Ruto whereby in case Ruto won there would be a power sharing with introduction of new executive positions. In politics they say get what you can get, a half a loaf is better than no loaf. Some of the proposals in my opinon like a ward fund would have had a huge effect in the counties as devolution currently stopped at the county HQ where funds meant for wards were being corrupted by the governors and county executives leaving nothing for wards and villages thus the impact of devolution was not being felt.

But it could have been tossed off by the judiciary. Have you read the reasons why the Court of appeal has nullified BBI
@daviddavis79592 жыл бұрын
@@georgeikinya2779 many aspects of BBI only needed legislation. It was the political part that brought so much heat and required constitutional change

BBI was a scheme to reintroduce our former constitution but this time with some many political post creation which it could have suck the life out us economically, it also meant to create another powerful but lazy President which only suit Uhuru's type of President. Ceremonial President but he has the power to suck his Prime minister, his deputy without consulting anyone. He also have some influence to control Judiciary, where would that left this Country?

Hiyo land central wanataka wataona Canaan...The clause that limited the acres of land individual should own that was under the new constitution was immediately removed ones Jubilee gained power ..There is nothing the mountain can do now. It's the biggest issue in central but it's rarely talked about in politics unlike the coast land issue.

So much blood shed and lives lost Caz of insightful tribal political rhetorics! Good people you have shown heshima not fighting for them anymore!! Listen to this clip and realise how they change talk to fit times their agenda or interests not to solve wanjiko issues!! Uhuru campaign for raila ruto make waiguru cog chair. Wetangula musalia kingi abandon raila Kenyan problem is governance structures laid from it inception.That's what strangles us. Instead of a resolve politician do survival tactics for dominance!!! Not ideology!

Voting for Uhuru in 2013 was the biggest mistake... Look where the guy has took our Country economically. Kibaki runs this Country with the biggest number of cabinet and other state institutions, inherited this Country in 2002 with negative 6 economy then followed by 2007 PEV where it affected our economy completely but Kibaki did what he knows best. Build our economy and focus on vision 2030. When Uhuru assumed office in 2013 he killed Vision 2030 in his first day, in office then focus on borrowing and borrowing, his government will be dubbed the most corrupt in the history of this Country.
