Belos's original master plan, from the very beginning, hinged on his ability to lie continuously to everyone he met for multiple centuries without any of them finding out the truth, and he came within an inch of pulling it off. He's the best liar in the multiverse, and it doesn't surprise me at all that he thought he could fool a gullible child a second time -- or that he succeeded.

I'm going to guess you had good intentions here, but it's offensive to call someone 'it / its' pronouns if they're trans but also in general to any person. People DO use these pronouns, seeing as they are a neopronoun and that's more than vaild and cool.
