Ray Byrne played for Collingwood from 1978 to 1983, appearing in 121 games and kicking 10 goals. After crossing from Carlton in 1978, Ray became a reliable defender and occasional winger. His best season was in 1980 when he finished runner up in the Copeland Trophy and was selected for Victoria.
