I thought the same thing with the crate of fishing hooks. Small crate only has 12 slots but it's a crate of 20 hooks. Only bugs I've ran into so far with the beta is an eel I smoked turned into a strip of smoked eel and the constant falling out of the Sanbuq when getting out of the hammock at night. The eel really annoyed me, took 3 pieces of wood to fully smoke those eels. Ended up giving the Brig another go. 3 mast with short gaffs to dragon cliffs was painfully rage inducing. Swapped to triple junk sails and a jib to Gold Rock and it wasn't bad. Then switched to twin masts with squares and top sail gaffs and I'm finding the Brig enjoyable now. It still turns like a beached whale, and can be slower on light winds, but I've seen 8-10 knots out of it in good winds. did hit 12 knots in a gale.

Mizzen sails tend to provide pressure at the stern and turn the ship up wind. This is weather helm. Head sails provide pressure at the stem and turn the ship down wind. This is lee helm. A balanced helm will track and stay on course without rudder pressure. You can steer the ship over distance just by trimming the sails.

does this game let sail stall and flapper at wrong angle to the wind? Like how close to the wing you can turn?
@MichaelRainey2 ай бұрын
@mykolatkachuk7770 Yes, sails will luff if they're not trimmed well. Different sail plans point differently. Square sails in Sailwind have a wide angle to the mast so act more like lugs so they point decently enough. Anything with a fore and aft plan like a sloop will point very well.

Yellow looks great on some light aircraft. Look at the Piper Cub for example, looks best in Yellow. Same thing with the Harvard (T6).

Nails come in huge boxes and are presumably handmade shipbuilding nails. It makes sense that they'd be expensive and heavy. A box of unprocessed iron is also heavy and expensive. Don't forget to pick up new mail and cargo when you drop off deliveries at a stopover. A full boat is a profitable boat, and both Fort Aestrin and Siren Song will usually have something headed for Eastwind. Happy sailing!

I gotta hand it to you. I’ve been doing a lot of googling about what the best sail setup for this game would be (upwind performance, minimal micromanaging, speed, etc.) and from what I can find, your setup seems to be about as perfect as you could ever ask for.

The world isn't worse you just grew up and became aware of how bad it could be. It was parents job to worry about that stuff in order to let you be a kid. Parents chaperoned us trick or treating and taught us to stay in a group, wear bright reflective colors, look both ways before crossing the street, stay on the sidewalk, and only trick or treat at doors that had their lights on. And if there was a pred and they knew what was good for them they kept their damn lights off.

Yeah the world is by far better than it ever has been. And you could honestly make the argument that we really shouldn’t let kids be kids as long as we do which is a fairly new concept anyway and in most of the world they still don’t treat kids as kids but as little adults.

Its great to see you getting the recognition you deserve. I feel like there isn’t a lot of content like yours with the current yt meta and I really enjoy the longer slow paced videos. Lets hope and see what the future holds for this channel.

I Don't think the world is much different. I think we just get to see more of its negative sites on a dayli bases, and it scares us.

The world is objectively better than any point in history to be honest. Kids never “got to be kids” till about 100 years ago. Prior to that people didn’t see them as kids but as little adults.
@johannchambers20982 ай бұрын
my idea is to cheap it out as far as possible and then start trading between eastrin emerald and al ankh to make decent money en the try and build the ultimate dhow for ocean crossing and try and set a new record some how kinda like those around the world races with sail boats
@couplingrhino2 ай бұрын
Good luck and have fun! The big mast, long lateen and big jib will make it go as fast as it wants to go and then a bit faster. You'll make more money faster by sailing from Al Ankh to Aestrin with spices/silk/dates/white tobacco. It's pretty much straight downwind all the way!

I get being worried about your kids but even when I was a kid I never understood this whole we have to protect their “innocence”(which only seems to be an American thing). What does that even mean to protect their “innocence”?For most of human history children lived in far worse times than they do now. In fact this is the safest period to be alive in human history. Now Im from Germany so we view these things a little differently than in America. So maybe it’s just a cultural thing.
