Not because of lyrical content, but the emotional weight and sadness of this song is some of the most powerful stuff I've ever heard. Just the guitars and mood of the riffs and singing is so desperate and sad, truly beautiful like no other.

This entire album is about the struggles Garret has been through. I definitely respect that. He's an amazing vocalist. This album sounds different, but I dig it. I'm impressed. He puts so much soul into his vocals and this album, unlike a lot of vocalists these days.

Exactly! You will know hope. Well said. For people that aren't Christians, when we say "surrender your life to him," it's not in a negative sense. You honestly don't have to give up things that matter a lot very often. And the desires for things that you want that God doesn't approve of fade. They don't disappear, but they do fade somewhat. But it's all worth it. You just feel a sense of love and peace all the time. It's not always at the forefront of our mind, but there's always a hint of it.

When asked about faith: "I think in the last year in my life I've really taken a step back. I can feel it when I talk...I'm in a grey area right now, I'm unsure of where I am and where I'm going, it's feel like I'm walking with quicksand beneath me half the time, it's a very unstable time of life right now. I'm just trying to do the best thing I can with what I've got given to me. I'm just trying to do something positive for someone else."

PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one hearing a ton of Volumes influence in this song. If there were no vocals on this track I would think it was a song off of their album VIA. I LOVE the way this sounds. I like the groove going on, the palm muting and the melodic guitar riffs. It reminds me a lot of Volumes.

Things are the way they are you can see that God is good and profane actions and sins of the flesh are evil. There are no "bad parts" of the bible that works against Christianity. This song is great and he is showing that he believes in God, but he has no faith in him. It's hard to see it all if you haven't seen it from all points of view. I was a Christian and then I fell through my relationship with God and became more a worldly person. With God back into life I can see it from both sides.

I live in Renton, WA. It's actually a pretty liberal area. Most of my friends are atheist or agnostic, and almost none of them are Christian. My parents aren't Christian. I have 10 times more influence from nonreligious people than religious people. I'm not just following others, I got here myself.

Same guy. Garrett is the heart of this band lyrically and I love him for it. The reason he sounds different now is because they didn't record with Joey Sturgis this time around. He's always sounded like this live, but Sturgis filled up his vocals and their bassist, Justin, did a lot of the lows on the past two albums.

Easy, I always prayed for an answer and said it was all a higher power, I reached the conclusion that any problems are caused by me and through my life, and only I can fix myself. I find it pathetic to lend your hands to a god, when you can fix your life by yourself. I'd rather find strength from my heart rather than from a higher power. It makes you a much stronger person.

I think you should know too, that Garett said you should live for yourself a positive life even with a negative mind and solve your own problems instead of waiting for the rain to wash away your own problems, as waiting for God to answer your problems is about as effective as waiting for the rain to wash away your problems. The song is Silver Linings.

I think you can take what you want from the bible, and believe what you want to believe. I mean, having faith in yourself is great, but it's also good to have guidance from something divine and powerful. Even if he doesn't exist, the firm belief in a divine force, (such as god) is a very special and powerful thing. Use your right to believe what you want towards something positive and open minded.
