@@Lightmane Just 2 of the new surveil lands would be enough, they can be tutored as well. They wouldn't enter untapped but still worth it.

@@themasterprocrastinator wouldn't have the graveyard utilities but smoldering marsh would have almost always entered untapped, and also hit the tutorable state.

@@graog123 they do enter tapped, though in exchange for this deck they serve a couple extra purposes: 1) some control of your draw 2) additional tool to get cards you want into the graveyard They do soften up his final blow however, which is questionable in value. Not necessarily an immediate write off, but something to consider only other option for going untapped would be smoldering marsh, which honestly given the current mana base would have been better in most cases to blood crypt (entering untapped as long as you control 2 or more basic lands, so garunteed untapped when you go off)

Caldera Breaker and Ruin Crab with a treasure token package and Trash for treasure has been one of my favorite jank brews in months. Glad to see CB getting some attention.

That did happen, though the phrase is much, MUCH older than that. The one that comes to mind first for me was Big Hero 6, but there's dozens of films that have something like that line. The concept probably actually predates film, so trying to track down where it originated would be a task that's much more work than I'm willing to put in, but one that I'd be interested in finding the results of if someone else did all the work. There's a ton of history of characters blaming their opponents for taking everything from them.

No one missed this combo, it just sucks. Use "queza augur of agonies" and "Griselbrand" as the targets to draw cards and ping down the opponent. Not needing all the mountains allows for more black mana for tutor cards

given the struggle with black, and only really needing black and red - given the situation there's about 5 i'd even consider looking at here: 1) Smoldering marsh, a mountain swamp that enters untapped if you control 2 or more basic lands (which given all the basic mountains, is like... really likely) 2) Raucous Theater, mountain swamp that has to enter tapped, but does give more control of your draw and filling your graveyard. 3) 3 way tie between the 3 triome style lands which are mountain swamps. Tapped entry - cycling may help a little, but they're more here since the only alternatives are just defacto worse than these guys.

@@toast_recon i was checking scryfall before i wrote this and somehow entirely missed the "cycling 2" on canyon slough. reason i ranked the triomes higher was quite literally solely because "cycling beats no cycling"

@@purplecharmanderz2975 yup! IMO the allied cycling lands are so unplayable now that we've got the surveil lands that I wouldn't waste your wildcards, but they're there. :)
