The whole point why skylanders was so amazing was the toys to life concept having an in game shop would ruin its uniqness. Also, expensive? An average figure is like 2$. And being able to than trade your skylanders and than actually use the character to kill enemies, or fight your friend with there skylanders was amazing. Making it all online transactions will make it fall down the void of cashgrabs. Why would you want the company to make something that would intern ruin the fun for thousands and just give them money. And i know the toys were cashgrabs, but, you can tell they were putting heart into those games and characters.

@@drathyice7413you do make a really strong argument I like your reasoning and I totally 100% agree with you on that, skylanders was my childhood now it would suck if they were online characters however if you were able to get coins or whatever the currency is for fighting enemy’s or something then it would be a reasonable game that should be like 40$ to own and then you can buy coins or whatever if you’d like but you can also earn the currency by fighting or whatever they are gonna do but me personally I would like a new game in general just nothing like cod or fortnut if I get one of those bull crap stuff I’m done

I'm so glad this happened, though I still prefer going to a store to get it just because it just feels so good or magical if you know what I mean. Nothing beats the feeling of getting a new skylander figure. Not only that, the whole purpose of skylanders was to buy the figures.

They have to bring the toys back for this potential comeback, skylanders’ whole selling point was the toys. Everybody wants digital so they don’t have to go through the trouble of developing through Nintendo switch, imaginators on switch didn’t let you use portals and that was a hassle. I’m all in for the idea, could be very cool for them on top of selling new skylanders they can reprint several skylanders from back then like even some notable toys like blackout and wild storm

The thing with this, one of the reasons I believe Skylanders did so well is because if I wanted to I could take my tree Rex over to my mates house and we could play together with our own characters. Eliminating the figures would eliminate one of the best bits.

I think the best idea would be a mixture of being able to buy the figurines with in-game cash and buying them with real life money either in stores as figurines or from an online shop preferably as the figurines mainly because I like having stupid pieces of plastic fill my room on cool shelves but maybe that's just because I have a lot of nostalgia for this franchise

I actually prefer digging through thr bins full of skylanders it’s just cool picking out which one you want, I used to close my eyes and stick my hand into a big bin full of them at GameStop and just choose randomly

yeah there's no doubt that having the figures is much funner, but i think if there were to be another game they would have to at least have an optional digital store because not everyone can go out and spend $10 on a single character. maybe if they could sell packs though?

I think they should have 2 options for players. The physical figures that will unlock the character and give some other bonuses to reward collectors and then the digital version to just unlock the character with a menu to switch to the ones you own

@@BennySGB Skylanders also completed my childhood too! Well, even though we won't know if that franchise will ever comeback, I actually thought of a way to bring it back. I like to share to you my idea of a *Skylanders spin-off game* I call it *Skylanders Yin-Yang* It is a spin-off game that *solely* focuses on the dark and light elements! Why, well it's clearly obvious, ever since the two elements were introduced in Trap Team, then to Superchargers and Imaginators, they overall had the *least* amount of Skylanders. In other words, the Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Undead, Life, Magic and Tech elements had like 20+ Skylanders (or 30+ if you count the variants, repose, DK, Bowser, Crash, and Cortex), while dark and light only had 5. So, not only will my spin-off bring back the Skylanders franchise, but also give the dark and light elements more love and attention. The roster will be 32 (16 each) (Similar to the SSA roster, but also includes the *gimmick*landers) which consists of Eight CORE Skylanders One Giant Two Swap Force (the new Swapabilities will be "Stomp" and "Gravitate") One Trap Master One Supercharger (Sky Vehicle: Light and Sea Vehicle: Dark) Two Minis One Sensei (Light Bazooker and Dark Quickshot) Here's the storyline: There once was a evil troll scientist named: *Professor Dizastor* who out of many villainous schemes, wanted one thing most, remove all flowers in Skylands! He himself has a *strong hatred* for flowers! However, when he was caught, he was then put on house arrest (since CloudCracker Prison was destroyed around the time). But now, Professor Dizastor has created a monstrosity: *The Root Reaper* it's sole purpose is to swallow and absorb all the life essences of *all* flowers in Skylands! You, Portal Master must stop the Root Reaper and prevent it from destroying every flower, or else Skylands will lose its beauty and there'll be *nothing* left of green! I'm also bringing back PVP Battle Mode, Sky Goals, Sky Gems, Heroic Challenges, Raceway, Survival Arena, basically everything from the past six installments, but put in a dark and light standpoint! So, what do you think? Please be honest.

God I hope Skylanders comes back and with a shop. All my Skylanders disappeared around 8 years ago. I only played up to trap team and got little over 100 figures, stopped because my family went broke and I became aware that each game threw away the last one's gimmick unfortunately😢 still have dreams where I dig through my storage and find them. Sadly I can only pray for the games return. Sorry for the rant.

Same man. I had like 20+ different figures that I kept in a box, and I had every game except for Spyro’s Adventure and Imaginators (all of which were Christmas gifts). It was like my number 1 game for a while. But for some reason my stupid kid self got “bored” of Skylanders and decided to give them all away. Every game, every figure. And now at 19, I severely regret that decision because Skylanders was a significant part of my childhood and now I’m probably never gonna get it back. It’s not even so much the games I’m concerned about (I’m sure they can be purchased on Amazon or something), but all the figures I gave away. It was already such a process getting every single one, and considering they don’t sell them anymore, it would be much harder now to get it all back. Honestly I don’t even need the other games or a new game, I just want Giants back because that was the one that I have the most memories with. But without all the figures, it’s useless.

My biggest problems with digital transactions for non-physical skylanders are the lack of longevity and resale value. With the physical figurines, you coukd not only use them with every subsequent release, but you could also trade in your old ones and buy other people's pre-owned skylanders. I've still got my big box full of skylanders and five of the six games in storage for my theoretical kids to one day play with...

If Skylanders does make a comeback in a remastered legacy collection (like Mega Man,Mega Man X,Mega Man Zero,and Mega Man XZ Legacy Collection),I want the following to happen; -All Skylanders playable in all 6 games. -PVP battles in both Offline and Online. -DLC content. -If possible,scan the physical toys and make them Instant Skylanders (like Imaginators). -Variations of Skylanders available or unlockable. -Boss Rush available. -Co-op play. -All Adventure packs and Skylanders available from start.

Honestly to me a future game would have all new and old characters unlocked automatically and you get to use a menu to select but purchase them with gold that would now be universal also the old figures can be used with old accessories and they give some bonus most likely a special mission and new characters can get that also and they sell traptanium portals as the portal as it’s the best one as it has everything and also you could buy the characters levels and all digitally

I don't see Skylanders ever getting a new game, but I think they could implement the Skylander in the next Spyro game, whether as NPCs or playable characters. I mean they did sort of bring Back Spyro in a sense, so I think I think it's fair for the purple dragon to return the favor.

What do you mean they're not rebooting the series ? The Skylanders series selled way more than the Spyro series and Spyro got a remake. The only reason against the reboot or remake is that it would be hard to reboot it, since they need to make a choice between giving up the Toys to life concept and break the spirit of the series or keeping it and taking a big risk, but that's it.

I was a huge fan of this game when I was younger. I fell out of love woth it thanks to the content farm channels thst popled up, designed to make kids addicted to the videos and keep them watching... something my little sister got sucked into. Seeing the recent resurgence of it online has been very nostalgic. Unfortunately it's very difficult to get into due to the price. If Skylanders is to be brought back then a re-release or remaster of the older games is needed, especially on PC thanks to the games not existing there (outside of emulation).

Calling Bobby Kotick the goat is despicable, that guy singlehandedly ruined Activision-Blizzard as a company and harbored a workplace of sexual harrasment and misconduct (see the violations and concerns brought up by the several lawsuits, as well as the suicide of one of his assistants or the "Cosby suite" in work groups with Jesse McCree and other key figures), mismanagement of several studios and has pushed for more predatory monetization. Skylanders should remain as figures cause 1: every figure basically works as a token of purchase. So you don't have to rebuy for a different account. 2: The price of a cool display piece FAR OUTWEIGHTS whatever color change garbage shooters do 3: The figure design is already perfected. Skylander figures were such a W for when it came to opening birthday gifts. I used to get so excited. You almost create a bond with the figure just because it is there, and I know that seems weird now as an adult. But as a kid it meant everything. My grandparents waited in line for 2 hours at Target to buy me a Ninjini. R.I.P. in Heaven to them both. I know Disney and Lego wanted to make a profit but them stealing the idea of Skylanders really faded out the franchise. The digital idea isn't so bad but I don't know, it's just not Skylanders without the figures in hand. That's the whole purpose of being a portal master. And the portals I thought were the prettiest things ever as a kid. Skylanders has to bring something special to the table that is modernized but unique at the same time. As an OG skylander I'm thinking that Skylanders may be out of their time. And will live forever in our memories.

Just say “No” to All Digital characters IF they even bring Skylanders back…and that’s a big IF because Microsoft owning Activision doesn’t mean Skylanders is coming back. Why would I want a digital shop? The best part is going out, finding that one you've always been looking for, buying it, opening it, putting it on the portal and playing. Definitely feels like they SHOULD make it so sky landers can be used without the toys. On the imaginators port for switch, they had it so you scanned the toy ONCE, and then can select it from a menu. Definitely feels like the better move.

To be honest I think that Crash Team Rumble should have been a free-to-play Skylanders game. Think about it: a MOBA with multiple characters that have to collect items and fight in order to win a game... it makes much more sense as a Skylanders game rather than a Crash Bandicoot game. In addition it has been developed by Toys for Bob.

You undersold LEGO Dimensions by a ton Lego Dimensions wasn't just lego reselling old shit and adding bases to them for a game. Most characters had never had LEGO before. And even those that were already existing before dimensions had unique in game content that made it worth buying and quite frankly. LEGO Dimensions is the definitive Toys To Life experience. Not only is it just a great game in its own right. But the toys actually have use outisde of the games. They are normal LEGO and have the same function as every other LEGO minifigure but with this we got characters like Sonic The Hedgehog (Over 5 years before he got his own sets.), The Powerpuff Girls, Gremlins, Back To The Future, Teen Titans, Adventure Time, Harry Potter and so many more great franchises that had amazing representation. Some even came with full levels and all had their own perks unlike Skylanders where you only really need one of each element type.

I don’t even want any new games, I’d just want a remaster of the first 3 like the n.sane trilogy or spyro reignited, so it’s a bundle of the first 3 games with modern fps and bug fixes but still keeps the charm of the og versions looks. And to fix the skylander figure problem, if you have a certain character already as a figure you immediately unlock them by putting them on a portal, but if you don’t then it’s fine because you can unlock all of them by doing challenges so it encourages players to do more than just the regular story, as well as allow new players who don’t own any portals or figures to still have the same experience as old ones.

They got away with selling characters separately because it was always a physical toy you'd buy that could then be played as. Take away the toy and what justification do you have selling the characters separately for an offline story based kids game. It just wouldn't make any logical sense to sell characters separately if there wasn't gonna be any toys attached to a potential remake/remaster/new game.

I don't want a Skylanders game where you digitally purchased the toys, because part of the magic of Skylanders was the Portal. Im alright with an avarage of 1 Skylanders game every 1-2 years, but the last thing i want is a Skylanders game that constantly gets updates but has the exact same story. If anything, they should design a portal that wirelessly connects to the switch. And bring back the arena that was left behind in Swap Force.

If its digital, then whats the point. Its like "would you rather have a cool figure you can use or just buy it off an eshop?" You would rather the figure. My take is that there IS a digital shop, but not for digital characters. You buy a character from the shop and they mail you the figure. Thats what i would like since it would eliminate the need of walking to walmart and get lucky to find pop fizz. But still making them be sold in retail like walmart, its just that you can buy the figures from the game itself so you dont have to go through the hassle of finding it irl. Online shopping is booming rn so i would hope they do this. Oh and also letting people sell their own figures, so like a section for new figures that skylanders will send you in condition that JUST came off the factory, and a section where you can sell your own skylanders, so like ebay but it is built in the app. I would recommend them adding a parent PIN thing so kids cant just buy things all willy nilly but let you choose not to add them if your an adult

I feel like if activision and toys for bob make skylanders again with the toys and portals, I think it would sell pretty well tbh
