I’m just glad that Skylanders has not been forgotten. Although no new content has come out for it in years, the franchise is still recognized and acknowledged as something with potential going into the future, and that makes me very happy!!

You touched on it in this video but one thing I respect immensely about Toys For Bob is their unwillingness to back down about Skylanders. At the time of its' heyday, it was really only kids who enjoyed it, the only people who'd actually be vocal about the franchise were older Crash and Spyro fans who didn't enjoy that direction. It must've been quite discouraging for TFB. Once the Skylanders brand fell dormant and Spyro and Crash essentially took its' place as the new "Activision's main kids franchise" releases, it would've been really easy for TFB to basically never bring Skylanders up again; leave that franchise to die completely in the 2010s so they could fully get back in the good books with the vocal audience they were now developing for. Instead, TFB have stuck by their creation. Not super loudly, but in a silently persistent way. Consistently shoving in little references here and there (slipping *anything* Skylanders into Spyro Reignited was such a power move lol), hosting anniversary celebrations for the games simply because they want to, quietly but unapologetically supporting community works (i.e fanart and customs and whatnot), etc. They have a very respectable backbone, sticking with Skylanders like that. As a fan it's extremely comforting, it shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that those people truly do *care* about that franchise, just as much as we do.

It will always be impressive to me that Skylanders, as an original IP, was able to outlast the major IPs of Lego and Disney especially since the latter two relied heavily on nostalgia whereas Skylanders forged its own success with its memorable original characters and storyline. I replay the entire series at least once every year, I can’t express how much Skylanders means to me. It always boggles my mind how fresh it feels, even after all these years. The devs’ passion really shines through, even in their (arguably) weakest game Imaginators

@@Luke_SkywaIker Absolutely! That world and those characters have a really timeless quality. Despite it being a wonderful money maker on Activision's end, due to all pieces of plastic you need to buy, that never feels like the main priority within the game itself. Even the parts that are *technically* just advertisements to buy more stuff (the Elemental Gates) still have a boatload of effort woven into them to make them *feel* like a natural part of the world, rather than just some awkward pop-up outright stating "you need to buy another figure to unlock this content". The fact Skylanders *was* able to outlast goddamn DISNEY and LEGO, gives me a lot of hope in the wider general audience. Regardless of inherent IP biases, it seems the better quality product *will* ultimately fair better, which is nice to see.

Not only Toys for Bob; even CTR Nitro-Fueled, a Crash game developed by Beenox, had hidden references to Skylanders, mostly through Spyro content from the third Grand Prix. And I'm pretty sure the mobile game Crash On The Run had a few of their own, with the boss Dark Spyro taking more from Skylanders than from the Spyro series himself (even though it is acknowledged that Dark Spyro was a thing since The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night). Well, I wish you a happy Skylanders comeback.

seeing this. and this guy's philosophy of "devs should make what they want to make" gives me hope not just for the skylanders series. but modern gaming as a whole. you gotta appreciate someone who's genuinely passionate about gaming and knows that a game won't be good if the developers don't want to work on it. if we're gonna get skylanders in crash team rumble though then completing the original 3 with trigger happy and gill grunt feels like the obvious choice since those are probably what most people think of when they think of skylanders... but with a roster extending over 150 characters there's too much stuff they could do with it

Simple If Skylanders is a Franchise that would mean that it is its own universe. Think about it having a timeline of its own seperate from the other Legends and Insomniac Spyro Timelines would be quite fitting

I feel like Toys For Bob might resort to Skylanders in Rumble at some point, and if not that then one of their other projects, simply because Rumble is so reliant on recycled assets and is starting to run short of Crash content from their portfolio that they haven't already added. They are supposedly adding a haul of newly made characters related to Crash next year, though I can see another stopgap happening, since it has only a small section of TFB working on it, maybe next Winter like the Spyro themed event.

If they did bring it to Xbox, they would probably have to get rid of the toys to life concept. While it would suck it probably wouldn’t work to well nowadays. The way I could see it working now is either an online store you buy from or more preferable have an unlock system implemented. Plus, they could probably implement something where you could scan old toys you have to unlock them for free.

I feel like for skylanders to return it might have to innovate the analog part of it. Toys to life died off, so a change in the formula might be needed for it to succeed the way they want it to. Not that I need it to change though.

If this hypothetical game is released, we're not seeing it til like 2026-ish. At that point it will have been 10 years since the last skylanders game came out. I kind of doubt that they would try anything crazy experimental for what is likely to be carried off of nostalgia.

I think if anything skylanders related drops, I would legitimately cry. I found an old SSA strategy guide collecting dust in my school library and it literally made my entire day, so I think if anything NEW came out it would be over for me. I’d have to lock myself in my room for a week before I could function in society again

A thought: gamepass + skylanders. Would it be too farfetched to have it included in the subscription? figurines aside (at least in this scenario), I wonder if they could design an in-game unlock system with some reworks to allow new players to try the franchise without spending a fortune. The last 3 major releases of skylanders makes me think of the crash/spyro trilogies... Perhaps something is in the works for those.

I have an idea make the Digital version of Skylanders be where you for each level you choose a squad of four and you can pick from any Skylander and all of them start out at level 1 and you can swap out of them for a brief time

been saying this since CTRumble's first gameplay trailer but skylanders are absolutely possible in this game, the attack systems are the same even down to the 1-2-3 combos and so many characters from skylanders could genuinely really work for this game, also if they do a similar release format to spyro's with villain first then main characters i could totally see us getting Kaos, stealth elf, and eruptor Also if SpongeBob's jellyfish dance song is in this game you know damn well chill bill's theme will be a top performer music

The reason all the comments say chill bill is because it became a somewhat popular meme for a week or two and now most people just recognize that music as the chill bill theme. 10:26 on bottom screen, i think that's a game library but on the top screen i think it could be skylander main menu. at the bottom of the screen you can something that i think it's a flying island and in front of it you can see sky with clouds which seem to be under the island, and also you can see in right top corner something with a shape and earhty color of an bottom of an flying island. it could be hype tho EDIT: also icon on the left kinda looks like a ship one on the center kinda looks like a snake

I do wonder what would Skylanders 7 be about as the last game is about creating your own skylanders. How can Toys for Bob surpass that ultimate gimmick? I know many others have done it but it’s fun to hear from different people and you never know, they might actually listen to the KZbinrs keeping the games alive (and let’s face it if they let SB&G do the song for the credits of imaginators then they should listen to current people). Hey, I am a TfB and Crash/Spyro fan, and just wanted to leave some input. All the nods to Skylanders even All Fired Up is completely intentional. But as you said references aren’t really evidence of anything, they love the franchise but that’s all it says. I think it needs to be said that their next project will be Spyro 4 as they’ve been hinting it for a long time. This is the general expectations to have, but I will say the current studio head at TfB has been someone who’s been at the core of creating Skylanders games. It’s all up in the air still, but it’s food for thought

in all honestly if they bring back skylanders I would be happy if they get to do a test with crash rumble I think that would be cool the one thing I do wonder is if they got a new game would they bring back toys to life on one hand I would like to see toy to life back but on the over hand I think they would end up being expensive and I don't think stories would want to care that anymore but if we got just a solid skylanders game I would be happy because they had a really nice world and fun characters that was one of the biggest parts of it and if we got the chance to play as are favorite skylanders again I think that would be prefect but this could just be me
