@@edhdeckbuilding actually, a video on the best cards to use to commit crimes from older sets would be cool. Committing crime is a broad mechanic, and it's going to encapsulate a lot of old cards. Some advice on making the most of this mechanic would be good. :)

I think cankerbloom is one of the best of those creatures that pay 1 to destroy, it does exactly what the varmint does but you have the option to proliferate aswell and it has more power

Baffling to me that people think Innistrad's Victorian Horror (Late 19th century) is totally cool and fine in Magic but Thunder Junction's Western theme (Late 19th century) is not. "It's not fantasy when it happens in a North America inspired setting" is a ridiculous standard to hold.

I don't think there is an issue with the setting, it's just a shame it feels like it's just characters with cowboy hats on, the same way MKM was people in detective hats. There is this whole thing with the cool train and the junction itself which feels like it's being ignored in favour of just hats. We don't know what the Horror cards are going to be like, but hopefully they are a bit more inspired.

Return the favor is going to be a must for red in the same sense Deflecting Swat is: a sneaky way to counter and in fact I will probably run this even on Izzet decks because there's always somebody who thinks he can get one over you by running a Dovin's Veto for example and this isn't technically countering it.

Question sparked by Final Showdown"s first ability If a creature is a X/X (for example X = the number of lands you control), and you play Final Showdown to make all creatures lose their abilities, does that creature become a 0/0?

It's difficult to give creatures deathtouch.... Bow of nylea, ohran frostfang, archetype of finality and zagras are just what comes to mind (for the whole board)

attacking creatures get deathtouch is different and doesn't always work with what you want to do.

Regarding Insatiable Avarice: I don't think someone will play this card, if you are not playing a K'rrk deck... nowhere else a 3-mana-sorcery-Vampiric-Tutor-with-upside (if played for BB more) will be good enough. If you want to spend 5 Mana to tutor something to your hand, you are in really janky territory. The flexibility to only draw 3 for BBB is very niche playable

It's cool it hits activated and triggered abilities but it's 3 mana for one effect and 4 for both. That is alot to hold up if you aren't in an draw go deck.

Voracious varmint is a downgrade to Cankerbloom imo. Slightly lower power and cannot proliferate in exchange for underwhelming vigilance on a 2/2 creature
