The great Lionel Richie and company from the album The Commodores released in 1977. They sure don't make music like this anymore!

I miss those days, too. It's one of many reasons why I'm always coming here to watch this video, and 'September' by Earth Wind & Fire. They look like they're having the best time. If those two songs don't have you dancin' on your feet or in your seat, you need to check to see if you still have a pulse.

@@shadowsgathered6878 Not long ago, I was at my Dr's office & was asked for my birth date. Another guy said, "Your birthday is close to my son's. He was born on 9/21." For Funk Sake, we need more of this music, it's simply brilliant. The story goes that while the Commodores were in Studio, something went wrong, and while they were waiting for the techos to fix the problem, Ron la Pread started goofing around with a bass riff, and the rest is history.

I serviced their equipment in the 70's. My first encounter was when another customer came into our shop and was VERY impressed when he saw one of their road cases with "Commodores" on it. I had no idea who they were but could tell from his impression that they were not all that common. They always referred to Lionel as just "Richie" and thought that was his first name for a long time. Very nice guys.
