NL, you often run into early situations where you have a small utility unit in the middle of your comp and end up with draws instead of wins due to your largest unit being in the back while those little 1/3s are just middle fodder (which also sometimes help the enemy team by letting them trigger hurt/knock out effects).

Hey, NL. The reason you were fighting the same person over and over was due to the server reset. It cleared out all the Team Snapshots. It takes a day or so for enough teams to enter the pools.

@@karl_boss I'm not sure this is true, I played against some teams that were a few turns ahead of me, since I did the math and it was impossible for them to have that combination of units on that turn. Also when the servers were lagging like crazy and nobody was playing, that's when i kept getting the same opponets over and over, but never in a new game. If it wasn't live and it was a snapshot of the team, i should've played against that one team in a bunch of runs on the X turn, but that has never happened. Anyway it makes sense it works in the way @Libra Auros explained it, It could've just been that when it was lagging the most they reset the server a bunch of times, and from a coding perspective, again, it would make the most sense to resolve matchmaking that way to ensure you'd always have the exact winrate and turn as your opponnent.

Same opponents thing is 100% because of the server reset, from the words of the devs on their Discord. There was some issues with mispairings during the huge server mess, but it should be fine now.

NL! I think one thing you're really missing is the power of the goose! Its a unit you can keep all the way till you get the build defining tier 5 cards and every turn its gonna be giving you one coin (meaning more rolls, more food, more upgrades) getting one or two early and buffing them will give you so much gold in the long term that you'll end up stronger for it.

I've found that the many types of gold/food or just gold midgame into pure food late game work really well. Just the principle of permanent stats carries it once you have solid bodies/effects to build those stats into

I thought NL was going to use the level up on turn 3 to get an early tier 3 that can help carry him into the late game, but he didn't even mention the rabbit before rolling it away. Then the madman says "We might as well buy a flamingo just so something is there" after ignoring an amazing unit to get turn 3. Health > Attack in this game. For example, in the early game, a 3/3 always beats two 2/2s, at most it can ko a 2/3 and an X/3. Who cares that the peacock has 25 damage when it dies to a light breeze.

@Cornelia Speaking of which, I just had my fourth 10-win run. I started with 4 Ducks and 1 Fish. I lost the first two rounds, but then I cashed out with a Swan, a Crab, and another Fish. It was my first time picking a Crab, and I still don’t think it’s very good, but it was a good stepping stone. I could’ve leveled it up, but I decided to pass and focus on my other friends. A higher level Crab would only be good if I had a Penguin or Bison, and even then it’s still not that good.

I had an extremely fun run using the basic pack earlier. It wasn't a 10-winner, but it absolutely, ONE HUNDRED percent griefed a few people that would have otherwise been on the path to a win off of summons or 'roo scaling. I table flipped the board every round with badger hedgehogs. By the time they were finally put down, the team had a 20 attack or so badger with a pepper, a level 1 hedgehog to soak the badger hit, a level 3 hedgehog with a mushroom to revive, a level 2 whale with a steak, and a level 2 snake behind the whale. I think the best moment was running into a level 3 leopard team with its own hedgehog timebomb and the match ending without a single attack going off in a draw (he even had respectable 20 health or so stats on most everything at minimum).

I think the main problem with your scaling in the late game (during game 1) was just scaling dmg on a single unit that doesn't have the hp to back it up. The same effect can be obtained with far fewer resourcing using the likes of bone attack and meat attack on random other weak units that have more utility than summoning a 1/1 cricket.

NL, I think you freeze way too often. If you already know something is good enough to take, just take it! You're throwing away chances to get other good stuff from your rerolls. Think of it this way: if you freeze something then roll, you've immediately squandered between 1/5 and 1/7 (depending on what turn it is) of the potential that roll had to give you something good. Plus, buying that animal might make the difference between winning and losing the round! Yeah, if you don't have enough to buy something, freeze things you know you'll take next turn, but you should basically never freeze when you have 3 gold.
