world at war is a really great campaign. I find the enemies were just so smart and used actual war tactics, the newer bots just seem so dumb in comparison. and the atmosphere is just dark and intense, really puts you in WW2

AW was a phenomenal Campaign. Very well polished! Voice acting and movement was flawless and the cut scenes looked league's better than later CODs. I've been playing and streaming all COD campaigns in the order of release back to back on twitch so it's east to compare without going off memory and AW definitely stands out as a polished campaign that focused on quality.

black ops 1 is and will always be the greatest cod game in terms of campaign but even multiplayer zombies etc, i have so many hours on that game so maybe it’s biasty but personally i think the campaign is just an absolute masterpiece, created an unpredictable plot where you play as these crazy likeable characters, it’s even one of my favourite games all of time which is in question with only a couple.

@@eardestroyer6593 And you would be correct. OG MW trilogy is by far the best. Infinity Ward set the bar high and no other studio has been able to even come close to it. CoD4, MW2 (2009) and MW3 (2011) are the platinum standard of near perfect/perfect games across the board. The campaigns, the characters, the stories, the villains, the stakes... EVERYTHING is perfection! Whoever thinks that BO1 or BO2 are best clearly haven't played CoD or MW2 (2009) when they came out. And the fact that their argument is ZOMBIES proves how oblivious they are about CoD games. If you have to put a stupid game mode like Zombies purely demonstrates that the studio has no clue how to make a good campaign, period.

IW was a great story and a top 5 campaign for me. I thought the characters had a lot of heart and emotion which made me attached to them. I cried in the end credits listening to their last words. The villain was the main turn off but I still loved the campaign because of its characters, missions, and mission atmosphere. I also liked that you could choose your class for each mission and choose to do different side missions.

Bo1 will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the first cod campaign that I ever played where I understood what was going on. I was pretty young when the original mw trilogy came out and I’d play a couple missions of the campaign but due to lack of understanding of what was going on I often got lost trying to play it. Bo1 I had Woods and Bowman yelling in my earhole telling me where to go what to do, and even if I was by myself, I had guidance n shit, so it was easier for me to follow along. The plot, the twists, and everything in between was just top tier for me. And fucking Woods man. You have no idea how close I was to crying when I thought woods died

I love how you put the music of each COD game. MW2 2009 has to be my favourite :) One of the most iconic quotes from that game is ‘I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye, and the world just f*cking watched’ referring to COD4 when the nuke set off and the USMC got wiped out. On top of that, MW2 featured one of the coolest factions in the campaign I think I have ever seen in any fps shooter game. Shadow Company. YAY its finally here. Only 5 mins late highest record so far Edit: Bo1 was amazing the story, characters missions the villain almost everything was perfect. However the only few reasons for me bo2 is set a bit higher. Is again the story was incredible I like this whole concept of the choices you make lead to a different ending and ofc different outcomes in various missions. The villain raul menendez the best in the series. I liked how you can customkize your lodout before starting the mission. The characters David Mason, harper salazar even crosby were amazing one of my fav COD characters. Missions were amazing. The final mission of you jumping out the Helo was badass. How the story ended depending on your decision phennomenal which adds replay value. you have challenges that you can do. Yes a COD campaign with challenges which you can compare with your friends, online people hell if you complete certain amount you unlock special weapons. the Strike missions were hard but new and enjoyable to a degree. I also loved the idea of 2 time periods 1 set in cold war and other 2025. And lastly the music was amazing. The mission karma where the multiplayer theme plays in a certain moment and the slow timed club house shootout moment. In short every single concept in this campaign exceeded my expectations so much which is why IMO is the best COD campaign of all time. Edit: And even though the graphics are outdated compared to Current COD its still was good. Plus graphics doesent define a good or bad game. The fact that people say "this COD is the best cause of the graphics" is a very very small reason. Yh the graphics maybe good but what about the gameplay, the story other features on this list etc And probably the most underrated aspect is turning on or off the 3d Graphic content (if thats the correct name) basically censores the brutal stuff that young kids shouldnt see or hear. Which is optional

Advanced Warfare was my favorite campaign. It felt like much more than just following a story, there was so much more love put in to it and i felt it through the campaign. Does anyone remember walking around your room to check your loadouts? I love how people skip COD1, COD2 and COD3 with the excuse that there isn't an actual story. If we are using that logic then World at War has no place in this ranking. That game is in the same boat as those three. It may have a little bit of a story but it's far from having an actual one. But the campaigns are mix of story and gameplay. And the gameplay itself has few aspects - mechanics, movement, level design and the gun fights. So for me the mix of all that should be the base for ranking the campaigns, not only the story. For me big chunk of the COD community ranking is based on a lot of nostalgia and that's why I can't agree with some of the spots. But there is one undeniable fact - COD never had a bad campaign. Even BO3 and Vanguard have enough not to be called bad. Mediocre - yes, but not bad. Big thanks for the creator of this video. That's a lot of work you've put in this project. Well done.

Unfortunately, this ranking is very much influenced by memories. It simply cannot be that Infinte Warfare and Ghosts are so far behind. Both games have a very diverse campaign that takes place underwater and in space, creating a new complete experience. In addition, these 2 games are very emotional, especially in Infinte Warfare so many characters died, especially yourself. And playing brothers in Ghosts who lose their father in the course of the campaign breaks my heart.

I think it’s nostalgia speaking on your end. The Ghost campaign was laughably horrible. Story was awful, plot twist was nonsensical, voice acting/animation was hilarious. I’ll never, for the life of me, understand how people like it. I suspect it’s just people who grew up on Ghosts, feel nostalgic towards it, and then say people who grew up on BO1/MW2 are the nostalgic ones.

@@SJ-di5zu I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I started with World at War, but I really grew up with the MW trilogy. My first real multiplayer experience was with BO 1. So I see myself as someone who knows the franchise well. Probably the biggest influence, especially on IW, was probably the big wave of hate because of the future issue and the jetpack, because at the time of IW nobody wanted to play with it anymore. If you look at where the game ends up in general, it's unfortunately also self-explanatory why this campaign went down with it. With Ghosts, I have to agree with you that the animations all look very wooden and have aged badly. But the story was finally amazingly fresh and reimagined, for the franchise to use stealth and guerrilla tactics because they were constantly outnumbered. The finale is one of the best for me because it combined everything you know from CoD, you just had space combat, drone use, tank mission and a race on a train in one mission. I don't want to say that they belong in 1st and 2nd place, no. But stories like MW 2019, MWII, which are incredibly boring with villains that are one-dimensional and interchangeable, are definitely among them. Masterpieces like BO1 and 2 and MW2 and 3 will hardly be easy to come by, although Cold War would have really come close.

This video shows perfectly why democracy doesn't work, I guarantee you this even being a pool about the campaign people voted based on how much nostalgia they had and how much they like the multiplayer part of the game, that's they only way you can explain BO3 not being in last, Ghosts being higher than IW and AW, MW2 2022 being higher than MW 2019 and WW2, and the cherry on top being BO2 higher than BO1. Not saying BO2 had a bad campaign far from it but it didn't deserve the top spot, the missions in the past were amazing but the ones in the future were a drag and I'm not even talking about those optional missions.

Big Red One was an amazing campaign, as was COD2. Heck even COD3 had a really enjoyable campaign. Big Red One had a ton of actors from Band of Brothers providing the voices too which made it even more enjoyable.

I would've had Infinite Warfare at least a few spots higher, while MW22 would be at least a few spots lower. With Infinite Warfare, I understand that CoD fans don't want a Halo game in the series, but I feel the campaign was grounded enough despite it's futuristic setting. Plus, the gameplay, characters, and overall story was genuinely good, with it's villain being serviceable enough. With MW22, while it got points up their with it's gameplay (And graphics being a given), it's story was very average (To the point of feeling like filler), and it's villain(s) just flat and uninteresting. Arguments can be made for the characters giving it a few more points, but the game's plot doesn't do them any service (Personally, I like the original 141 better). Other than that, I generally agree with the community ranking here.
