I bought one in goatskin a couple years ago thinking I could read it, but I could not and gave it away. I am a Schuyler PSQ person! Btw, I can only read with one eye, the other has had 7 operations, but before the ops I'd have been able to read this. The Cameo is a great bible, though, and I can read that.

Even though the print is small for my eyes (age 54), I carry a magnifying card tucked in with the Bible and I'm good-to-go.

I love my Pitt Minions! I have all but the NIV my NLT is in synthetic leather. They truly are wonderful little Bibles.

I used to work for Lifeway and somebody had ordered one of these through us and never picked it up. So it was just sitting on our shelf for the longest time before somebody finally bought it. The font was too small for my taste but it was my first experience with a premium Bible. Felt amazing to hold in your hands.

Dude that NKJV is awesome ! The first premium I seen back in the mid 90s started my love for bibles. I've always wanted one in the old slip covers with that deep old-school grain.

The pitt is one of my favorites. Been using one since 2019. Goes with me everywhere. I just recently got the diadem in calfskin too. It's very nice!

Thanks for sharing. I have a Cambridge PItt Minion that I picked up in June 1963. It has a black leather cover. The description is: English Hand Grained Morocco Leather Lined Text reads: 8 vo India

I have the ESV and find it easy to read with my 55 year old eyes. 🙂 The paper is smooth and the red over gold is nice. My only complaint is the brown goat skn cover looks and feels like plastic. It doesn’t feel like leather at all to me. But I’m going to keep using it to break it in.

I have a king James version exactly like the brown one you showed except for it is older with a better leather. Yes, the print is small, but like you say, I expect that I bring my glasses.

I have a variety of Bibles - Allan, Schuylers etc, in a variety of formats, Quentel, Treveris, you name it… there’s something about the Pitt that I always go back to and just love to hold 😂😅

The pitts seem like a nice Bible, have to get one one day. I have a question though for a rebind. I have a MEV thinline bible. The thing is is the spine is glued and not sewn. I was wondering if you are able to rebind a glued spine Bible?

CSB has a personal size bible that is basically this exact size but without the center column references and it has a slightly larger font. I agree its a perfect size

The bible I carry with me at all times is a KJV Pitt Minion II, in this style. The only real disadvantage is that the back helps take an academic interpretation of scripture (for example they refer to Job as probably being a folktale rather than being essentially the sixth book of Moses). Also I'm not a fan of red letter bibles (I originally bought a black letter version, but it got lost in the mail, so it was replaced with a red letter version otherwise identical to it).

The Pitt has its rivals! The PSQ and Lockman's Large Print Compact are up there for me, personally. I find them just as easy to carry (maybe not compact in your eyes 😅)

Precisely lol they are smaller bibles, but certainly not compact like the Pitt. The PSQ is quite an awkward experience to me.

They are lovely Bibles for sure, brother. But man... The Thomas Nelson 8462 Heritage Reference has a decent font size. Of course I think it's calf and not goat skin. Anyway! God's word! What's not to love? God bless!

I agree. It's the best compact. I tried others with even bigger fonts but why do I keep coming back with the pitt minion.

I'd say the Schuyler PSQ line is the best compact sized Bible today.

@Swectorious Probably best just to look at the dimensions of the PSQ CSB in comparison to examples like the CSB Personal and the CSB Compact: CSB Compact (4.5" x 7") CSB Personal (5.4" x 8.5") PSQ CSB (4.7″ x 7.1″)

@@pattube So it just depends what we choose as a reference point. ~5x7 I consider Personal (e.g ESV Personal Reference at ~5.5x7.25), and ~4x6 would be compact. Schuyler would agree with Crossway and myef. The P in PSQ is ”Personal”.

@@Swectorious Right, I wasn't "disagreeing" with you, but in fact what I said is perfectly consistent with what you said. You're oddly defensive about something that's fairly trivial in the end. It's really just marketing/semantics/etc. The dimensions are more pertinent to whether someone prefers one Bible over another.

Is there anything like this available for the NRSV or NRSVue (Protestant version)? I've been looking for a high quality leather compact NRSV for a while now and found nothing.

I think so, but they are hard to find, and they would have a cheaper leather, so a rebind would be needed to have something comparable.
