Do you have to use the Beacn software when using the mic? I'd like to just use it alone, through various apps like OBS/Streamyard/Audacity, etc. without the need for the software. I noticed that when I use the Beacn mic with OBS, though, the video I'm playing while recording sometimes stutters/freezes/glitches. Which is frustrating. I'm sure there's something I'm doing wrong.
@MiscastJoe2 жыл бұрын
No you don't have to use it..it can be plug and play but you are leaving some powerful tools on the table. Regarding the freezing I'd make sure your firmware is up to date. I've never experienced that problem. If it persists you can reach out to BEACN on their discord.

Any update on the mic mute? I feel like beacn went too deep into the details and the "nerdy" audio stuff and left the simple basic. There isnt even a mute button on the main UI. Whenever someone reviews a mic on youtube. They say stuff like "here we got the typical mute button" and move on from it. Not even 10 seconds on it. But here. This seems like its gold. No mute on mic. No mute on UI. Crazy. The deity mic looks more and more better. Let alone a hotkey or a shortcut for it. It seems they dont want to add a mute button. Alot of people complained about it. But nothing changed. They add a lot of complex stuff. But the basic stuff is not taken care off
@MiscastJoe2 жыл бұрын
There is certainly a mute in the software. there is a drop down in the software mixer you can select mute to audience, mute to self or mute to stream. There is no hot key for this, but if you add the mic as a source in OBS or something like that, you can set a hot key to mute the source from there. Aside from that, having their BEACN Mix or BEACN Mix create does it at the touch of a button.
@e234darkrock2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for such an informative teaching ~ it's amazing! I only have one question left~because the mic doesn't have a mute button How do I set up a hotkey for the mic mute key? I desperately need the ability to quickly mute my mic anytime anywhere
@MiscastJoe2 жыл бұрын
as of now there are no hot keys to control the software you would need to physically click on it. There seems to be a possibility that this will change in the near future, though, as they have a lot of planned feature updates in the pipeline. For now, the fastest way to go about this without touching the software would be to own the Mix or Mix Create to work in tandem with the microphone.

Great tutorial video! I'm in the process of weighing different options for microphones and I like the Beacn Mic a lot. I was wondering if there was a boom arm that you would recommend for this microphone? Thanks in advance!
@MiscastJoe2 жыл бұрын
Well I am currently using the Elgato Wave Arm LP and I enjoy it though I have heard complaints of it drooping with heavier mics. I also have a Rode PSA1 and it is awesome as well. Truthfully though I had a cheap Neewer mic arm for the longest time for my Rode Podmic and it served me well. The more expensive ones are definitely better built and have some more features to them (ability to hide/organize mic cables) but I am always a fan of being cheap too

How are you routing to your headphones? I see that you don't have them plugged directly into the back of the mic but you still have a 3.5mm cable coming out of the beacn mic

Question I'm only using the mic to record my voice into OBS but when setting, setting in OBS I only get Beacn Mic as and input option, but mic is flat, and my voice is low. I don't have the Mixer turned on, do I need to have it on for setting i have for the mic to pull through?
@MiscastJoe Жыл бұрын
If you have set everything up correctly in the BEACN App (and leave it on) then you should have the BEACN Mic, Audience Mix (BEACN) Voice Chat Mix (BEACN) and VOD Track (BEACN) as available sources in OBS. As to the sound of your mic, make sure that you have properly set up everything in the mic chain (EQ, Compression, etc) AND have saved it to your mic, then it should sound great coming through any of those sources. Jump on my discord (link in description) if you need to go into it more

Hey man thanks so much for this. I've been trying for hours and your video answered some questions that so many others didn't. Thank you so much! However, I just want to confirm here.. I am new to OBS.. I don't need to add individual audio output captures in the OBS sources for each scene? All I need to do is change the Mic to audience mix for everything to work?
@MiscastJoe2 жыл бұрын
You would only need to do that if you added BEACN as an audio capture device on your scene. Then you would have to do it on each scene. If you go into settings>audio and set the device up in there, then it is a default on every scene

Not at this time. I am pretty sure the app isn't supported on iOS which removes all of its mic chain settings and the stuff that makes the mic good. I also don't think that you can connect the mic in any way other that a usb a input. At least according to any of my research

Thanks for the video. Really super helpful, just got mine in the mail. One question I have is that I use a hard-driving headphone that uses a SoundBlasterX7 as an amp selecting it as a source. I guess it becomes a bit incentive when im routing all of my sources through something that's named after my microphone, it feels so counterintuitive. then breaking it apart again in OBS.

Double check the personal listening device on the mic's mixer in the BEACN app? That's the only thing that comes to mind. You won't hear your own voice because of the delay. if you run a 3.55mm cable from the mic to the arctis' hub and select the mic as your personal listening deivce, you'll hear yourself and everything. Saving that, try out BEACN's discord, they have excellent customer service. They just helped me through an issue with myu profile
