As a left handed shooter my options for a semi-automatic, gas operated gun are somewhat limited, so here goes. I'm considering the Beretta a400 (bronze) and the Fabarm LS4 Initial Hunter. Price w/out the Kinectic recoil option price swings to Fabarm. For me, speed of action, a draw. Each has their proprietary barrel shape and material, a draw. Both are beautiful to the eye. I prefer the oiled walnut of the Fabarm over the "covered" Beretta. Both offer shims for a more proper fit. What other factors to consider? Please offer me an opinion. BTW, your postings are great!

The L4S has been my favorite 12 gauge upland gun for the last five years. randywakeman.com/FabarmL4SHunterTheBestAllRoundShotgun.htm . Fabarm USA customer service is the best in the industry.

Randy, as always excellent video. I'm getting long in the tooth and am looking for a gun that I can carry all day that doesn't beat my shoulder up. Regarding perceived felt recoil, IYHO how does L4S compare to the Remington V3?
@RandyWakeman5 жыл бұрын
They are both gas-operated and soft shooting. The heavier V3 is softer-shooting than the lighter L4S.

Randy, I seen some posts that say the L4S doesn't run well when the gun is dusty or in cold weather. What's your experience? Thanks and keep the videos coming!

No problems in the last eight years.

Thanks! That is what I needed to know. It's hard to make a decision when you can't get one in your hands. No one here in the Denver area has one in stock. I appreciate the quick reply.@@RandyWakeman

I have a few questions. First Thanks for getting back so fast with me last night. Why are you the only one review the FABARMs? How does the L4S compare to the XLR5? Can they take an extension tube?
@RandyWakeman8 жыл бұрын
+Steven Schultz I'm not, by any stretch the only one that has reviewed the Fabarms: fabarmusa.com/news/ . No extension tube, the L4S is not a tactical / HD product.

Hey Randy, what is the overall length of the gun? I was looking at a 26” for grouse hunting. But nobody has one and it’s listed on their website.

Hello, I have a Fabarm L4S and when disassembling it I have a hard time removing the barrel. Is there a way to remove it so that it comes off easily? The one on my shotgun comes out really hard.
@RandyWakeman3 жыл бұрын
A dab of grease or CLP prior to assembly.

Can you lock the bolt back with shells in the magazine tube? Similar to the feature of the Browning A5 magazine cut off switch. Thank you.
@RandyWakeman3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can but no-- it isn't a dedicated magazine cut-off.

Mr. Wakeman, after watching your reviews and your friendly replied on KZbin, I have a Grey Hunter coming in the mail. I'll be headed to ND for pheasant with it in two weeks. But have some questions for you: 1. I'm unfamiliar with FABARM choke system rating. I'll be hunting over dogs and usual use IC or modified. Which choke(s) do you recommend or similar to the IC or mod? 2. I use Kent fast lead, 2-3/4", #5, 1-1/4oz for pheasant with my other upland guns. Any recommendation what patterns well with this firearm? 3. If I experience "cheek slap" while shooting this shotgun. What shim do you recommend to help solve this issue? Many thanks.

*It is an extremely soft shooting gun, particularly considering its 6-3/4 lb. weight.*

I know this is a 9 year old video. I'm new to Fabarm. Are there any difference in the initial hunter 9 years ago 2015 VS today 2024 in look and mechanical? Aside from looks are there any mechanical differences between the initial hunter and the grey or deluxe hunter? Thanks.
@RandyWakeman4 ай бұрын
All the 3 inch chambered 'Hunter' models are identical mechanically. Fabarm started using a redesigned shell elevator last year on all L4S and XLR models.
@MT-vm1zh4 ай бұрын
Thank you. I am thinking of getting a hunter for upland and waterfowler for harsh weather hunting.
