Yes. Same with me. I just recently purchased the complete set of the original series (42 books). I'm still checking where I can buy the 8 special editions. On top of these, I also have the complete 184 choose your own adventure books, which is quite similar to give yourself goosebumps but more related to adventures. Finally, I'm still waiting for my shipment of complete Choose your own nightmares. I am a fan of these type of books. Great collections The Real R.L. Stine Collector. Kudos.

These are very hard to come across, since they’re all out of print, minus one that DID get a reprint, that being “Please Don’t Feed the Vampire!” which got a tie-in reprint to coincide with the first theatrical film. The rarest ones tend to be the Special Edition books, which are extremely hard to find online, as is the case with all of them, minus the aforementioned reprint. Fun Fact: Tim Jacobus, the original artist for the Goosebumps series, illustrated the very first cover. However, the artist who took over on book #2, Mark Nagata, had replaced Jacobus. Then, on book #25, another artist, Craig White, who used computers to make the illustration, had taken over afterwards. Another thing some people don’t remember hearing about, and, likely because this was something nobody had that much information on at the time, was that Craig White had illustrated a cover, but the book, to this day, remains unpublished. Crazy story, huh?

I know a lot of people don’t really praise these books that much, but you’ve got to admit the artwork for these is really great. I even heard a funny story about how Mark Nagata was told to make sure the beakers on “deadly experiments of dr. Eeek” did not look like condoms, there’s also a reference photo he did of himself for that book and it’s kind of funny.

What’s your personal favorite? My favorite is Little Comic Shop of Horrors, probably because of the comic book theme. A close second is Danger Time, because of the mythology and time travel themes. I also thought it was really interesting with the over-the-top and sometimes gruesome bad endings those books tended to have. They got away with a lot back then.

Honestly I didn't get to read a lot of these when I was younger. I know I read Escape from The Carnival of Horrors a lot when I was younger. What are the top 5 scariest books from this series? (The more mature horror)
@therealcollector854 жыл бұрын
@Martin Spindler I honestly can't answer that question. When I was a kid, I think I only read about the first 10 books or so. I didn't care too much for this series, I didn't like re-reading the same story over and over. Yeah, you had multiple endings and different outcomes but the books did have you running around in circles a lot. I would rather read a book straight through and be done with it, then move on to the next book. If you check out some other channels like Brandon Sime or Josh Reviews Incorporated, they could probably give you a better answer than me.

@@martinspindler3191 Yeah when I was younger I thought I was such a fan that I would read each book until I read every ending. I figured out real quick that wasn't easy to do. But R.L. Stine has been doing "choose your own adventure" books since back in the 80's. He wrote books for Indiana Jones, G.I. Joe, and also the Badlands of Hark and Invaders of Hark, which were game books, even though the books had multiple endings, there was only one correct path to read. I'm actually working on an audio book for his Twist-a-Plot book The Time Raider, using time stamps to jump back and forth through the story. I probably won't have that uploaded until the beginning of 2021.
