If you’re wondering about the closed China branch, what happened in brief is that Coco (dragon girl) and Haachama (crazy one) angered Chinese nationalists by showing KZbin analytics on stream that listed Taiwan. They demanded nothing short of Hololive firing Coco, which they obviously refused to do, and this tanked their reputation in the region and made continuing business there impossible. It’s unfortunate the CN talents were lost, but actually giving in would have been a bigger blow to the company since everyone loves Coco, who was a major bridge into the English speaking market and is actually the company’s top super chat earner. And she did nothing wrong.

Led to chinese fans rage. It was a hard time for Coco(Haachama too). Some of chinese even asked for their graduation. And since Hololive had a branch in China(and everything that has some kind of business with China may have big problems)there were two options: graduate Coco(and continued business) or graduate whole branch(and leave Chinese market). That's unfortunately a grossly inaccurate and/or outright wrong interpretation, though some of the words used do show up within their specific context. The problem is that all primary sources have long been deleted, the secondary ones are/were in old japanese drama boards, and the tertiary ones often have mistranslations, personal bias and fanfiction woven in. Made worse by the fact that everyone bought into the secrecy and deletionism mindset, where facts = doxxing and anything that could produce negative feelings is immediately removed. That makes it very hard to verify anything, and the result is distorted storytelling like the above post.
