A friendly heads up, in Kingsglaive it's about the fall of Insomnia not Tenebrae. Other than that, great video! Came here from watching Resonant Arc's Xenosaga Episode I series. Glad I did! Also, fun fact: Nix (the protag of Kingsglaive) is one of Ardyn's illusionary corpses hanging in the throne room to taunt Noctis at the end of the game. Not sure why. Probably just an easter egg.

24:43 I gotta say, if you haven't watched "The Adventure of Dai" remake yet... DO IT NOW!!! Seriously, it blows my mind that it has been slept on this hard by the English speaking anime community. Other than maybe rushing the beginning of the story, since it was already adapted in the 1991 version (what I like to call "Full metal Alchemist: Brotherhood Syndrome") it's as best of an adaptation I could ever hope for, with some of the best fight scenes produced by Toei in recent memory. If anything, for "Dragon Quest" fans it may be a dissapointment that Koichi Sugiyama's score is not used, but honestly, the music is made by none other than Yuki Hayashi. So I don't really miss Sugiyama's score for one second, specially with gems like "Dragon Knight". Seriously, give it a watch as soon as you can. It doesn't receive the attention it deserves.

The adult in me hates Advent Children for undermining FF7's story, themes, and characterization, but the kid in me has watched all of Advent Children's fight scenes at least 20 times and still religiously listens to its soundtrack. Also, Geostigma is actually a great little sci-fi/fantasy idea involving the Lifestream, even if it's a problem that just kind of solves itself in the movie.

I admittedly have a soft spot for Advent Children. I saw a preview for it in Game Informer in like late 2003 or 2004 and, as I've mentioned, my only prior exposure to the Final Fantasy franchise at that point was Legend of the Crystals. Seeing that preview inspired me to go out and get an original Playstation and a copy of FF VII because that preview looked SO cool that I had to play the game that lead up to it. At this point, it's more of a guilty pleasure for me but I still pop it in once in a while, which is more than I can say for most of these animated atrocities.

I think guilty pleasure is a great way of describing how I feel about Advent Children as well. It looks (and sounds) too good for me to outright dislike. And hey, if it got you to buy a PS1 and a copy of FFVII, you have to give it some credit.
