Even if you learned the N5 kanji, even disregarding the review, videos like these are amazing for practicing understanding of sentences made for natives (as opposed to textbook examples) with a translation. All of it presented as different video games to make it so interesting

It's amazing how many words you learn to read with just this video! Some really useful Kanji to master! :) I had so much fun making this video, I'm really excited to share it with you all! So glad that I get to continue this Video(Game) Textbook series with Kanji as well! This video is Part 1 of 8 for the JLPT N5, and already have quite a lot of the examples already found for the next episodes! I hope you all enjoy and look forward to everything coming in the future!

This is the fastest I have ever memorized Kanji and figured out the difference between Kunyomi and Onyomi all by the end of this video. I've tried learning Kanji so many ways and this looks like it's the one! I'm having so much fun using all of the Game Gengo videos to achieve my dream of speaking Japanese! 🙂
@SuperCabbage3 жыл бұрын
Let’s gooooooo, so I’m guessing we’ll be doing 12 - 13 N5 kanji per video to get through all 100 in 8 parts, that’s a very manageable amount for each video (I think these are a lot harder to learn all at once than grammar, so I don’t think a format like that of the grammar video where we get all kanji in one video would work for retaining information anyways, separating them into bite sized chunks like this seems better). Looking forward to the premiere!
@GameGengo3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Super Cabbage!! :) Yeah these videos will be much easier to manage, I think I will probably be keeping all Kanji videos to be this length, but then later once we finish an entire N-Level I will then compile them together for a huge review/one stop shop video for those who want that mega video haha

I don't know if you check these comments after two years but on the chance you do, thank you so much for NOT USING ROMANJI!! It actively ruins my ability to learn Japanese (or any language with transliteration) because I just start associating the new target language with the previous English. Which is obviously not what fluent speakers do. My tip to anyone that thinks they need romanji: stop looking for videos and go back to the hiragana and katakana. If you don't know the letters why are jumping into more advanced lessons? You're just hurting your growth! Good luck! がんばれ.

my japanese teacher who's a native says it's not correct 本々 but as 元々 and in the dialogue you showed it's written in hiragana, yet you present it as it being written in the game dialogue using the kanji 本々
@GameGengoАй бұрын
もともと normally uses the kanji 元々 that is correct, however i was showcasing that the kanji 本 does have a reading for もと which does actually rarely appear in English dictionaries as 本々, it was incredibly hard to find examples of every reading in games manually so I chose to show case this reading in that clip. Sorry i could have made it clearer that it was an irregular use of the kanji and not the normal way to express もともと
