Very cool how there are different prides and the king of the prides are those that earn the right to lead them, just like in real prides. Yes, Simba inherited his pride from his father, but he also earned it, making it his rightful pride. Kopa and Kovu "swapped" prides to lead and Kion earned his place in a newly introduced pride. You can also see that relations are tight and intertwined genetically, but with just enough variability that the offspring are viable, like in real lions.
