In regards to the whole purpose of why Six dropped mono the official little nightmares Twitter account said that in the tower Mono hurt six more than he realized. I think what they’re implying is that by destroying her music box he was hurting her physically and emotionally. Remember, Six doesn’t really seem all that distressed in her monster form and perhaps from her perspective everything seems fine and she isn’t initially aggressive towards mono and when he calls her she presents her music box to him as one would show a friend something they enjoy. Only when Mono attacks the music box does she become hostile. And you’ll notice that in the first few phases she only attacks if you call her or get too close. (Also notice how she physically reels in pain when u strike the box) so in my opinion Six did view Mono as a companion and even a friend of sorts but when he destroyed her box, the only thing that brought her any sort of comfort or relief (playing into the theme of “escapism” present in LN2) that’s when she decides to drop Mono since from her perspective he hurt her and destroyers the thing that made her happy and feel safe. While from our perspective mono was just trying to save his friend, six perspective of the events in the tower are implied to be drastically different. Great video and I just wanted to add to the discussion with some of the hints the team has given us and the subtle hints during the game that lead to this conclusion. I’m not saying I’m 100% right but I think her betrayal is much more interesting from this angle than the whole “she was never your friend” angle. That’s just my viewpoint tho. (Btw this is not me defending six’s actions but rather just adding to the discussion since I think six is a much more complex character than just her being a twisted child, and while she is very selfish and what she did to mono was wrong the thought of things being different from her perspective gets one thinking)
@claracrossing572518 күн бұрын
This reminds me of the cask of amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe. If your familiar to the story, fortunate doesn’t really treat Montessor good and than finally montressor just has it when fortunato insults him. Montressor continues to act kindly but ends up killing fortunato. This could be similar to this situation, mono had already done countless things that weren’t really the best, but when he destroyed the music box six kinda just had it. Of course it is not justified has montressors murder isn’t as well as the story points out by showing his insanity. Six didn’t have to drop mono but perhaps she wouldn’t have if he didn’t do that.
@BrandonCitarella18 күн бұрын
@@claracrossing5725 I do think that Monos actions throughout the game might have influenced Six’s decision and I like the parallel to Montressor and Fortunato. This is why I love the decision to keep things vague with this story. It leads to a bunch of interpretations and I like talking with others about their thoughts on these things since Little Nightmares kinda demands discussion among the community.

this is such an insight! makes me wish that there was a DLC to see things from Six's perspective. this whole situation made me realize how communication is important and how so many things happen because of miscommunication. maybe if Six uttered her feelings to Mono, Mono would've apologized and everything would seem a little better. but then again they're kids and kids still aren't the best at communicating what they feel.
@kirachandesuu7 күн бұрын
after pondering for a bit, this might be somewhat of a parallel with mono and his tv/dream sequence of him running to the door. six pulls him out of the "trance" every time before he gets out since she's supposedly "saving" him by "waking" him from the trance. sure it's not the same as mono destroying six's music box as the music box is something very dear to six, but they're still somewhat parallels even though it might be a stretch hahahah
@kirachandesuu7 күн бұрын
another thing i realized is how time and space is weird in The Signal Tower. Mono, after he was trapped there, grew long and thin limbs and became The Thin Man. maybe the time and space in The Signal Tower is so distorted that Six being trapped in there was actually so long that she eventually grew long and thin limbs as well, just like The Thin Man. or maybe Mono distorting The Pale City so he could get in front of The Signal Tower in reality was just him speeding the shit out of time but the time somehow doesn't affect him (because maybe the place itself needs another Thin Man to continue it's time loop or something, idk lol) and in that time, Six was already stuck in The Signal Tower for so long she "grew up" and became distorted with long, thin limbs. since she's been in there alone for so long, it mirrors her time at The Hunter's place, as she finds comfort in the music box (maybe provided by The Signal Tower since it needs an inhabitant or something?). when Mono shows up Six is like, "oh hey you're here again! look at my music box, i didn't get to show it to you last time since we were busy escaping and not getting killed", but since the music box is what connects her to the tower, Mono destroys it so Six can escape again. but things happen like you said: Six feels hurt and betrayed by Mono and therefore "betrays him back", without knowing the reason Mono destroyed it in the first place. and since Mono is stuck in The Signal Tower now, it doesn't need a replacement inhabitant.

I think I the use of a hunter was intended differently, while children in the us have to think about guns and violence of the sort regularly (which is horrifying), the game was made by Swedish people and we don't have that same concern as children here. But we do have one thing that I think connects much better to the fear of faceless hunters specifically. In Sweden we have "allemansrätten" ("all man's law") which means you can walk freely in any forest, pick berry's and mushrooms and camp there for at least one night. It's amazing and I, as well as many other Swedish children spent a lot of time in forests. But hunters can also be in these forests, when you walk around you might see a hunters tower and I remember having to wear reflective vests on during hunting season so we wouldn't be mistaken for animals. Hearing distant gunshots in the forest and being afraid of a hunter mistaking you for an animal was pretty terrifying, thankfully accidents like that are very rare but the fear is still there. That's why I think they have the faceless hunter, you never really see them, just hear their shots and see their towers. Hope the cultural context was helpful:)

I think that navigating this life has a lot to do with being able to recognize, understand, and predict patterns. We may not be able to control the cycles themselves, but I think when we have a grasp on ourselves within the larger context, we're better equiped to approach these cycles with understanding, knowing, expectation. And from there, we're able to break out and defy expectations :) I appreciate your feeling and dedication to the themes in these games. I love this series.

(I think I am halfway through the video so I am putting my thoughts here) -With the Hunter, I LOVE him, he's my favorite antagonist of the whole series. I have autism to I tend to fixate on something in whatever media I enjoy, and I think part of the reason why I find the wilderness chapter so comforting pre-chase scene is because I grew up rural in the 2000s and I mean *rural.* I've literally lived in a home like his before on the edge of some woods growing up, so usually when I replay that chapter I like to have Mono walk around, take in the ambience, and then I have him trash the Hunter's home by throwing his stuff around. It's also not so much the chase scene that scares me, but it's hearing him when you're still in the house. The footsteps, what I THINK sounds like a sneeze, it's very reminisce of when the person who was looking after me (not a parent) would get in a bad mood and as a kid I had to learn how to tell the difference between possible moods based on the sounds-like, heavy, loud footsteps = bad mood. Also, going out to the Hunter's shed, that looming dread that's building up when you hear the grotesque sounds of *something* happening and knowing your only means forwards is to go past that. The chase scene is adrenaline-building because you're trying to not get shot, but the leadup before anything happens does a good job at making me feel anxious. -With the hospital area, I had to get emergency surgery at 13 because my appendix decided to self-destruct (I was out of school for two months) and my recovery was so rough that it traumatized me (they had to put me on *morphine,* which is a very strong painkiller to give a freshly-turned teenager) so as far as hospitals go, even when they're clean and modern I'm still very, very terrified of them. This summer has been nothing but doctor visits for me because my thyroid kicked and was severely underfunctioning (not losing weight even after I lost my appetite and couldn't eat, fainting, no energy even though I sleep almost all the time, ect) and I have a rapidly-growing tumor (NOT CANCEROUS thankfully!!) that I will have to get removed sometime this winter, which, unfortunately for me, is in my lower stomach area, and the surgery for removing that is VERY similar to an appendectomy so my medical PTSD has been creeping back in and I keep getting anxiety sweats and having trouble sleeping just thinking about it, in addition that ever since late May I've been to a couple of different hospitals + have had so much blood drawn, you'd THINK I'd have lost my fear of hospitals by now, but I'm still just as scared of them as before. So, the doctor's level makes me anxious, more anxious than the school by a LOOOONG shot (even with the teacher chase sequence)

The developers lit said that Six and the Lady aren't related
@palemourningrose246316 күн бұрын
In defense of Six, she had no way of knowing the Nomes were people. That sausage? She DEFINITELY knew that was people. She went through the kitchens, she MADE sausages herself in order to progress. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that the sausage was people meat. The Nome, however, was an unknown. Hell, most of US wouldn’t have known if not for the DLC. It’s ridiculous to assume Six is aware that the Nomes are children. And even if she did, it’s evident that her hunger is supernatural in nature, likely requiring an escalation of foods to sate. The bread, then meat, then a live rat, then the Nome, and finally the Lady. She did not have a choice. Hell, I would have made the same decision knowing only what she knew. Sorry, I just get very passionate about Six considering every other person wants to put her in a paper shredder when that’s literally not even a fifth grader we’re talking about. She’s not a monster. She’s 9 years old, extremely traumatized, and trying to survive in a world that hates her. And wouldn’t you know, but extremely traumatized people tend to act irrationally.

About the Little Nightmares 2 betrayal and Six´s behaviour towards Mono: Couldnt she just fear growing up? Or him growing up? We know adults are bad and Mono appears to be a little taller/older than her (granted that might just be to tell boy and girl apart a little more easily in this art style). If Mono getting closer to that door is symbolism of him growing up her stopping him makes sense and so does her apprehension. Then he goes through the struggle of getting back to her in the tower. He lets go of his paper bag, opens the door and becomes more mature aka he is growing up. Then he hurts her (in his eyes he is doing whats best for her/saving her) but she realizes he´s too far gone and she lets go. Unknowingly forcing him to grow up "faster"
@pantha_laymon12 күн бұрын
I always thought that the Maw was under some kind of curse or spell that made the people who stayed there eat. Forcing them to eat, so to speak. So something that triggers this hunger that also affects Six. You can see from the guests that something alive seems to trigger an even greater gluttony, and that the regular meat is not longer interessting if Six is there. When Six met the gnome, it was alive. I always interpreted it as her not knowing how to help herself. That at some point dead meat or bread simply wasn't enough anymore to satisfy her hunger. I didn't interpret it as Six willingly killing someone even though she had the chance to eat something else. It always looked to me as if she, like the guests, was forced to do that. Perhaps triggered by the power of the Lady. That this power forces people to eat. Or rather forces people to eat human flesh, preferably living human flesh. I also assume that Six no longer feels this hunger in the end. I'm probably wrong, though. 🥲😅 Because the Kid doesn't feel this hunger either.

Two things I wanna say First, in defense of Six, someone tweeted about her eating the nome and the devs responded with “But when you know what the sausages are made of in The Maw, you can understand the choice.” She could clearly see that the sausages were made of people, but she had no way of knowing the nome was a person. Also, there’s the theory that her hunger was too strong and she needed something alive. Second, I don’t think the meat is *only* children. I think it’s guests too, because the shoes and suitcases are guest-sized, not kid-sized. Same with some of the meat we see hanging and being eaten by the guests. Also, as someone else pointed out, we can see a chef go into a guest’s room and seemingly start chopping them up

its worth noting that in little nightmares i, by the time six reaches the nome with the sausage, shes already been through the kitchen (where the sausages are made) and the lair (where the meat for the sausages comes from). by now she knows that the sausages, or at least some of the meat in the maw, is made out of children, so she has to make the choice between knowingly commiting cannibalism and unknowingly committing cannibalism by eating the nome.

I said this in another comment. I see little nightmares as a cautionary tale of what happens when the cruelty of the world touches children. Some become the thing they fear the most. Some embrace it and some die ofnit, if they dont survive. Theres plenty of people who have gotten out of their situation a better person. Unfortunately there are too many people who fall prey. Six dropping Mono was prolly that. She fought really hard to escape only for Mono to embrace the powers and possibilities wanting to grow up fast so he could use them more effectively. Every time he would try to get closer shed pull him back. A great representation of when kids bully others or have physical outbursts and not know how to control themselves. Eventually she saw how everytime hed fall hed embrace the powers from the tv, mirroring the powers and possibly the cruelty of the adults, until she couldn't handle it. Its better to drop him hoping he dies rather than have to deal with another monster especially someone who went through the same things and was afriend if not someone she survived with. At the same time prolly not recognizing her own dark side. If she did, she had it more in control, but even she fell. Each time she survived an encounter shed grow stronger but at the same time her dark side would grow, until she did the unthinkable and actively hirt someone (eating the nome) out of desperation and survival instincts. Enacting the same cruelty that was done to her. Obviously she felt guilty. But by the end of the game Im assumeing she just gave in becoming the thing she desperately DID not want to be unlike mono who did use the powers willingly. At the end of the first game its not a triumphant time. People are now afraid of her and leaves her alone but shes now alone having to continue and possibly becoming another "mom" figure perpetuating the cycle of violence. I think thats why no one in the little nightmare games has a happy ending even if they win. They either get abandoned like mono because they are too similar to the cruel adults, offed like the nomes and children or push those away like Six. I think six is not like the other children because she might be the child of the mother figure in the 1st game. Or at least a part of it on some way. She might even be able to see the cycle unlike the other children until they are adults. These are the majority if not the most talked about stories of people living ine dangerous cruel and hostile environments as children.

The painting on the wall was the daughter and the painting covered was the sons painting. The daughter: The daughter is not six and it was confirmed that six had no tie with the lady. The actual daughter was that granny in the DLC. If you look at the painting you can see she is wearing a yellow dress, some might think she is six because of this but no she is not. That same dress can be found on a piece of wood near the water by the granny. The granny outgrew the dress as she aged and discarded the dress, she ended us using another dress she found from the bodies (this can explain why it didn't fit her so well). The reason why she was locked down there is complicated, if l can remember well from that video he explained "it was to protect her". The lady was feeding off of young kids to stay young herself. So the lady locked her daughter away to protect her from the mother's hunger for youth. There are more details but l seriously can't remember. All l remember is that the mother stayed young as the daughter grew old. The son: The son betrayed his mother, that is why the photo was covered. The son found out what the mother was doing and ran away. As he ran away he would soon fine out that the outside world aka pale city wasn't not wonderful at all. Stuck on not knowing what to do he kizzed himself. He couldn't go back home after the betrayal and he couldn't stay in the pale city aswell so he wrote a note and ended himself. Why the lady acted differently to the run away kid: This is a weird topic but it kinda supports why the granny was the ladies daughter. When six was caught by the lady, the lady was still composed. She didn't go "crazy" when she saw six. BUT with runaway she went absolutely mad. Some say it wasn't because he saw her face but because he kizzed the granny aka her daughter. Another theory is that the lady knew dark magic and that is why there were many books scattered everywhere. She found a way to stay young forever... But at what cost? It is well known how beautiful she was from the painting on the walls. So why smash all the mirrors? Some believe it was because of guilt. Many young lives had been destroyed because of her, she was a monster and she knew it. That face you see in the mirror (DLC) could be her actual face or what she is underneath all the dark magic. She was so consumed by being young, that her own kids weren't safe. So her daughter was locked away and the son ran away. There was a family painting of her and the daughter. The painting seemed unfinished because of the right hand side it looked like someone was missing. That was the son that was taken out of the painting because of his betrayal. That is all the information l remember from that video

There was also another theory from a different video. Why Six dropped Mono When the tall man kidnapped Six she reached out to Mono but all he did was look away. The trust was somewhat broken from there. (This happened after Mono opened the door) Six tried to stop Mono from opening the door. She was the one pulling him away from the TV continuously. She obviously was against him opening that door but he still did so. Him trying to open the door was him slowly breaking her trust for him (This is when they were escaping the tower) So when they were running she realised that there was a screen and she couldn't interact with the screen (only Mono can). So she turned around to grab onto Mono. She did that not to help him. She did that because she absorbed some of his 'power' to get through the screen. She needed a way out so she used Mono to get out. She already wanted nothing to do with Mono after the kidnapping, that is why when she was running away she didn't wait for Mono. She didn't even check if he was okay, she was ahead of him all the time determined to get out. She only turned around when she saw the screen, she knew she needed his powers. She didn't save Mono because she saw him as a problem and a threat. When she absorbed a piece of Mono powers, she changed and lost a part of herself. The power overwhelmed her aswell. Since she lost a part of herself she felt a continuous hunger. A hunger that food can't even help (in the game she did eat but it did not help) She was hungry not for food but to fill in the void that was left behind from the split. She was looking for something that can fill that void. So she basically found someone (the lady) and ate her and used that power to fill the void (that scene where she is absorbing people and kizzing them) This theory makes sense in the time loop theory. The reason why Mono defeated the Tall man is because Tall man was weaker. I always asked why tall man was defeated by younger him. Was it because he was locked away and fatigue? Well some say the reason why Tall man is weaker than Mono is because Tall man is future Mono. If it didn't click: Six absorbed some of his power making him weaker than younger Mono. So future Mono is weaker than past Mono. That is why past Mono wins all the time

Take a shot every time this guy says "adults are scary." It honestly feels like he let AI wrore that part. Just repeating the same couple sentiments over and over in ways no one phrases them. Thing in your belly? Some adukts are bad? Sounds like a third grade attempt to sound deep. The saf reality is there is no such thing as good or bad people dude. That "thing in your belly" doesn't leave anyone as an adult. Sure some have more general control over it depending on other variables. The truth is thate EVRYONE is going to do thongs we collecticely view as bad at ppints because of many possible reaosns. The world isnt a black and white picture book and NO ONE can be compeltely trusted to be predictable to your views at all times. In fact EVERYONE is going to do someth ok ng you feel makes them bad at some point in theit asult life so of you really think thats scary and males tjem a bad name rosn iver yu cheated and did a lazy shit job qt your career, maybe yoy should exist anymore? The world is too much for a permenent child mind like you.
