I don't even use mac but the fact they have an option to not allow certain programs to fetch files honestly puts it above Windows for privacy in my eyes, I just wish there was a "done way" to find out if Mac or Windows is better for privacy. I know in Michael Bazzell's book "What it takes to disappear" he mentions that he always recommends his clients to use Mac-OS even if its not on a native mac piece of hardware (Hackintosh) I wonder if that's because of the ease of use and more programs that Mac-OS has rather then Linux or if Mac-OS really is more private then Windows.

macOS is absolutely more private than Windows. Windows is full of telemetry, Microsoft isn't much different than Google in regards to data collection.

Also, on covering your camera, I had always heard that the camera indicator light is connect to the camera directly, so that the camera canNOT be turned on without you knowing it. There are caveats where it is theoretically possible to hack the camera for a split second, long enough to take a photo and transmit it to a remote server or attacker's computer, such that you wouldn't recognize the brief light turning on. That does not touch on remote microphone activations. While Little Snitch, in my opinion, is tedious unless you're an IT person who specializes in macOS and its processes, I recommend MicroSnitch, from the same developer. All it does is watermark your screen when either the camera or microphone is turned on. Tje watermark goes away when the device is turned off, but it also logs each event.

Improvements to an OS is less effective if the machine you use has a micro OS (see Minix & Intel/AMD management engines) running at the hardware level negating many "Improvements".

3:46, do you guys think MacOS has the "security by obscurity" model? like windows has 80% usage since forever, so there are naturally more attackers on windows cause there are more fish to fry on windows and this is why Mac's don't get virus, but then there are more general users(by general i mean not tech savy) on MacOS than in windows, so attackers should also try to attack Mac"s cause it'd be more easier, right? I guess what I'm trying to ask is do Mac's really have good security or do you think that its the "security by obscurity" at play here. I personally don't think Mac's have the best security cause they don't have the firewall enabled by default (3:12).

Thank you for a very informative video! I have a problem I hope you can solve: I use MacOS, when I go to sharing, ‘remote login’ is always ON. When I try to turn it off, it says (approx., since mine is in Norwegian) "Remote login is terminated..." but it is not turned off. When I close System preferences and open it again, Remote login is on again! Is this due to virus or hacking, and what should I do to turn it off?

hey I wonder if you have a video on this or suggestion; Most pages I visit, I get "your connection is not secure" error. Ive tried 6 different browsers, cleared cache on all of them. Cleared cache via terminal (mac 10.11). Also I cannot see the previews on Opera when you search videos. Like you know when you have a bunch of videos listed? I can't see the poster or the preview. Any ideas?

Or best Option , Install your Mac OS into KVM virtual machine on manjaro linux Just like How Muta from *someordinarygamers* did it's totally secured , No virus threat infection also, if it get infected just delete the OS and install new OS But, you must have High End PC with GPU and SDD in order do to this kind of experiment also Linux shell experience
