EDITS: It has come to my attention that I've made a mistake 18:29, where I write 1st gear starts at 100 and 2nd gear starts at 101. This of course does not make sense. 1st gear starts at 0. Furthermore i mentioned at 3:30 that you need the standard or club acces to race wr ghosts. That is wrong, you need to get the club access of the game. UPDATE: The game has now added Steering limiters by pressing 1 through 9 on your keyboard! This means that the controller exclusive/favorized tricks mentioned at 8:41 and 11:31 are doable on keyboards now!

I really like how you actually described *how* to steer during a bobslay curve. Every other tutorial only mentions that you want to stay between the red lines, but never do they say how you can do that. I noticed that not only you steer softly, you also NEVER COUNTERSTEER when your car wiggles between the lines.

This guide is what is needed and you put it together really well. Every single technique is explained calmly and in slow pace with clear input visuals. It stands out of so many others which show the technique but do not explain how to get there, or even when explaining they don't say what details to look out for and why. Very well done! Thank you!

Thanks so much for this! I would describe myself as a casual/intermediate level player, and I've looked at similar sorts of guides and paid attention to streams but this is the first time I've seen advice that explains which techniques and mechanics are worth worrying about at different skill levels. Helps me feel less overwhelmed and able to prioritise what I'm worrying about while playing.

FINALLY a good video explaining the gears in an easy to understand way. I never really grasped it, but now I do. Same with the neoslide. The rest of the video is superb too. Thanks! The only feedback I have is that the video is a bit quiet, I had to turn up my audio 2 times as much as I do on other KZbin vids.

Brand new to the game, but watched a lot of gameplay videos before this. Finally downloaded the game and it's a lot to learn all at once. Your vide is the best so far, in a large part because you actually talk during them, but you present things in a way that is easy to follow. If you haven't done it already, I would love to see a video on tackling certain scenarios, finding the best line, and that sort of thing. Thanks for the great content!

Thank you for this video. I knew most of the stuff (at least in theory), but it really is helpful and your explanations are great. Also, I finally got the neoslide with just one brake tap, but Trabadia's tutorial shows it with 2 taps and I find that the timing is way more forgiving on controller (but maybe you lose a couple thousandths). Way easier for begginers like me, who played TMNF 12 years ago and I'm only actually learning now.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 📚 Video Introduction: The guide aims to be a concise tutorial covering all in-game tips and tricks for becoming a better Trackmania player. 00:14 🗂️ Video Structure: The video is categorized from beginner to advanced tips, including a special section on settings and keybinds. 00:29 ⏱️ Timestamps: Viewers can use timestamps to navigate to specific tips and tricks; some advanced tricks build upon earlier ones. 00:58 🗣️ Audience Engagement: The creator is open to feedback and questions via Twitch, emphasizing the iterative nature of the video creation process. 01:27 🖥️ Settings: Recommends setting FPS to monitor's refresh rate and tweaking texture filtering for best performance-looks ratio. 01:57 🎮 Keybinds: Advises players to set keybinds for three camera perspectives to improve gameplay. 03:21 📊 Display Options: Suggests enabling the 'always display records' button to view record times during gameplay. 04:15 🛠️ Training Maps: Recommends new players start with training maps to familiarize themselves with different surfaces and blocks affecting gameplay. 05:10 🛫 Air Time: Emphasizes minimizing air time for better speed and control. 06:06 🔄 Air Braking & Counter Steering: Discusses techniques for controlling car rotation while in the air for smoother landings. 07:02 🛣️ Common Lines: Talks about going as tight as possible on road surfaces and taking a wider line on dirt and grass. 07:59 ❄️ Ice Techniques: Introduces specific techniques for optimizing speed and control on ice surfaces in Trackmania 2020. 10:36 🚗 Managing ice turns: Avoid sliding out by ensuring the car points straight as it transitions from icy to non-icy surfaces. 11:35 🎮 Controller Tip: Smooth steering is key to maintaining control, especially when transitioning from ice or when driving on dirt and grass at low speeds. 12:03 🚀 Reactor Boosts: Use tricks to optimize speed during reactor boosts; inconsistencies make them controversial in matchmaking. 13:22 🛣️ Drifting Fundamentals: Initiate a drift above 200 speed; the duration can be controlled by holding down the brake. 14:21 🕹️ Advanced Technique: Auto slide can be initiated at speeds higher than 600 but can be avoided through smooth steering. 15:20 ⚙️ Speed Drifting: Special type of drifting that increases acceleration; requires specific techniques for road, grass, and dirt. 16:36 🌱 Dirt and Grass: Speed drifting can be achieved with smaller angles, making it easier than on the road. 17:20 🌀 Neo Slides: A way to initiate drifts at slow speeds; considered rare but useful for tight corners. 18:18 🦿 Gear Management: Gears shift automatically and can affect speed; requires conscious management especially on dirt and grass. 19:58 📈 Skill Level: Gear management is cited as the most difficult but rewarding skill to master in Trackmania. Saw someone else mentioning maybe adding a water tricks section. I half agree since they just recently changed the ratios for action keys. Water tricks are a little harder now anyway. I think an "Additional Trackmania Tips and Tricks" video would be greatly welcomed. Could cover those "Track specific" tricks like ice 360s and whatnot. Maybe a video covering the different track genres and typically how to play them. (Like new players confusing nascar tracks with fullspeed now knowing you don't break, just release the gas). Anyway, great video. Definitely helpful. Makes me wanna actually try to get good at neoslides and when to s4d.
