Assassins Creed Origins The Setting of Ptolemaic Egypt is superb, the entire region is filled with immense beauty, the setting pulls you in and saturates your brain in another time,in another world. The setting is so beautiful that you wish not to ride atop your cherished camel ,instead you constantly want to walk the sand covered streets, the agricultural fields of the Bread Basket,in the blissfully idyllic oasis and in the spectacular landscapes of the Egyptian desert. The wildlife is accurate, engaging and adds an adventurous aspect to the game, like wrestling a Nile crocodile or running away from a charging hippopotamus, it feels so natural and makes you love Egypt even more. You have a pet falcon that aids in scouting and in combat, the perfect friend a man can ask for. I love my little Horis. The weapons, the outfits/armours are numerous and stupendous. The combat is fun and engaging with a clear progression arch, making you feel stronger only when you work on improving your combat. The characters are most engaging, Baek is a brilliant protagonist, a Madjey returning home after a long expedition ,finding his home under occupation and tracking down those in power with ill repute and working on creating a regime change. You can disable the idiotic damage numbers which greatly increases immersion. You can read scattered papyri that tells you so much of this fabled land,of its peoples and its culture, then you get to delve into ancient (even for that time) crypts ,exploring the ancient tombs of Pharaohs a milenia older than Cleopatra herself, that leaves you itching with excitement to see what adventurous treasures lies around the next corner. This game is a piece of art, bringing the past to life. It is spectacular and I love it.

Ubisoft reached the peak of world-building, exploration, parkour, and graphics with Assassin's Creed Unity, only to abandon it. But Assassin's Creed Mirage signals a return to the franchise's roots, which makes me happy.

@@aligmal5031 I've been playing video games for about 35 years. I've seen some real stinkers. The thing that makes some of the AC games seem so bad is their comparison to others in the series. Some simply aren't that good, but they look like stinkers when they're in the same series as games considered by many to be among the best of all time.

AC Unity ended up being one of my favorite Assassin's Creed entries, and held so much promise for where I desperately wish the series went moving forward. Released as a buggy mess, with some frankly shocking and hilarious visual glitches and broken elements, issues eventually requiring an update the size of the games initial 40GB install that fixed most of the jank. While it never did achieve the polished finish fans hoped for and deserved (honestly, if they cut the npc density by another 3rd, I feel it would have done wonders for the game) the parkour was some of the best the series had ever seen, and the promise of co-operative gameplay was never fully realized as Ubi failed to provide the server support the game needed to keep online sessions stable and synced. Never the less, so many elements of the game were so enjoyable; social stealth, engaging combat, tackling missions and assassinationa from so many poasible angles, down to equiping Arno with suave fashion of your choosing (wish there had been a teansmog syatem) and it really delivered on the fantasy of being an assassin. The story, while feeling somewhat rushed towards the end, definitely had its charms, and while many at the time were still rightfully sore at the unfair and abrupt departure of the Modern day side of the story with Desmond and loss of the beloved Esio felt Arno was just off-brand attempt to have Esio without having Esio, I genuinely enjoyed the star-crossed lovers story between Arno and Elise, Arno never felt like a knock-off Esio to me, and that he was deeply devoted to Elise was compelling to me. Wish Ubisoft hadn't abandoned Arno going forward, much as I liked Syndicate. But after they self sabotaged themselves by releasing Unity in the state they did, following up Unity with more of that story was never gonna happen. Syndicate was great, and the last true Assassin's Creed in the series to date, always seemed a shame they didn't allow for 2-player co-op, dual protagonists was such a perfect chance for it. I've played each entry in the rpg trilogy, and was pleasantly surprised with Origins being so much better than I had feared...and then Odyssey was an incredible let-down for me, indulging in all the worst elements (in my opinion) and then Valhalla seeming to go further in that direction. I still say, Valhalla could have been such a cool new IP for Ubi if they had just released it as a Viking game and ditched the Assassins element, as the best parts of it's story were all tied to the viking aspect, and all the worst, half-baked and out of place elements were the Assassin's Creed bits, which had clearly taken a very backseat place in the game already. I don't have high hopes that Mirage will do well, as the fans of the older games are now the minority of players Ubisoft is concerned with catering too, but it's cheap and will be cheaper still when on sale, and I'll check it out eventually, probably. It's crazy the rollercoaster the series has been, but I believe I'm rather ready to get off this ride.

Syndicate was one of the most uninspired entries into the series, and its low sales numbers and critical reception was due to the massive step back the game was from Unity, not because the public was "tired" of the franchise.

I'd go with "over-saturated" rather than complicated, but it does still apply. Black Flag and Syndicate were the only ones I had any interest in after how disappointing 3 felt compared to the Ezio Trilogy, and while I've heard good things about parts of Odyssey, I really don't go to Assassin's Creed for RPG and brawler style combat fantasies. Maybe Mirage will bring it back on track, but I'm not holding my breath.

Gotta be honest about this one. I really liked Odyssey and enjoyed every single game in the franchise to that point. I even gave Unity a shot several years after the buggy launch and actually loved it. However, I lost interest when they released Valhalla. I simply couldn't stand getting through such a massive game without any incentive, it felt like a waste of time. On the other hand, when I played Immortals: Fenyx RIsing, it felt like a breath of fresh air (I know it drinks a lot from BOTW's cup, but it was a blast to play). Hope Mirage takes us back to the basics, because it is about time!

Calling Assassin's Creed Unity an "objective low", when it's quite literally the best game of the entire franchise is absurd, abysmal launch be damned. The worst game in the series, Origins, is also one of the listed "subjective highs", which removed the ability for the player to assassinate people, replacing it with standard RPG hack and slash combat, in a franchise entitled Assassin's Creed (it's bewildering that Black Flag was not chosen as a "high" instead).

People have been predicting AC's doom since Brotherhood's multiplayer was announced. And then every game moving forward had their reason to bring the franchise down when they released. And yet, it thrives. In the beginning people nagged that it was the same. Now people nag that it's different. Do you see the trend? People will always complain, but as long as Ubi's Marketing Department does their thing, they'll make money. Also... Rogue was a buggy mess at launch? Give me a break. Unity was, but Rogue ran perfectly well. It was shorter, but still a fun and mostly forgotten game in the series.

Assassins creed 3/4. AC3/4 was okay, but to me the cons are not what all the peasants complained about. I love the Mohican Native tribe, I love the British ,I love the fact that you start as Hatham, a freemason (In this game ''templar'' means freemason/illuminati) and I adore when AC shows the '' universal enemy'' that the propaganda of today wants you to see as the ''bad guys '' (British/Crusaders) as not actually so bad and perhaps the ''good guys'' from a different perspective. I loved that I could kill more Yanks in this game than the British ,although I wish your choices would reflect on what side you choose to ally with and not automatically end up working for the yanks. If your actions had a more profound effect and you ended up supporting the British in the end, the game would be 100 times better. But I digress, this is not the worst part of the game for me. I don't care 1 bit about the story outside of history/the animus, I just want the historical content. My favorite ACs are 1,Origins,2,Brotherhood and Unity. Revelations' setting of Constantinople was superb, but the half arsed npc design ( copy and paste potato face) really placed that game on the back burner for me. Medieval, in cities that are policed by soldiers , guards and police forces , shows exactly why stealth and assassins were a reality/necessity. Those settings are superb. But to be in an open world with sprawling fields ,fighting against armies with rifles/muskets is what makes the game/setting dim-witted and non enjoyable to me. There is no need for stealth when you fight mostly in fields and in reality, if you come up against a professional army of line infantry , you will be mowed down by a volley of musket fire within 10 seconds of an engagement. That is why I don't care for this ASSASSINS creed. AC 3 and Black flag doesn't feel one bit like assassins creed games...and that is not a bad thing.

Assassins creed Mirage. This is sensational, AC in Persia will be perfect, I was asking for an AC set in Persia during the reign of Emp. Khosrow I or Emp. Cyrus the Great, but this will be superb none the less. And I am elated that Assasins Creed One is getting a graphical remake. They should just work on the graphics and add more medieval arming sword options, I would love to use a beautiful Crusader arming sword as Altair. I don't care one bit about the story outside of history/the animus, I just want the historical content. I don't want open world, I don't want any propaganda of the WOKE cult, I don't want any damage points that fly around when you damage people as in AC Greece and AC Viking hype train, I don't want guns and I loathe MYTHOLOGICAL / MAGICAL shit. Keep it 100% Historical. I loved that AC1 gave tiny hints about God Three in One's existence/presence but that was never the focus. (Subtle hints of Muslim demons /Jinn is mysterious ,accurate yet palpable as long as they don’t go overboard with it. ) I just hope the weapons in Mirage will be historically accurate, the shitty fantasy blades I have thus far seen in the trailers look horrific. I want to see ME Shamsiers,Persian Scimitars, Turkish Kilijes , Byzantine Spathas and praying for the Byzantine Paramerion. At least the weapons wielded by the guards thus far look superb. I hope we get the option if we want to use a single hidden blade or two. I always prefer to use only one. The moves and combat is fluid and you have Horrus !!! My lovely pet falcon to help you once more and you have a single hidden blade that you can use in combat! I am so excited for Mirage. Creeds of the Future. AC1 remains my all time favorite , I am elated to hear of the remake that will accompany this Mirage AC. Followed by AC Origins,2 and Brotherhood. My excitement is palpable , I can't wait to use beautiful moves to cut down my enemies with a Shamshir and single hidden blade. Perhaps we can even get the Byzantine Paramerion sword and perhaps we can ally with the Byzantines , ah the potential for gaming perfection is vast! I am currently loving Origins and am highly excited for Mirage. I do hope it will be good. I am also looking forward to be a Shinobi in 1400’s AD Japan . Then I would love to be a Mongol Assassin in 1200’s AD China. Pharaoh Teti 2323 BC First ever recorded assassination in history. I love Origins and Egypts vast history, 2228 years before the reign of Cleopatra. THIS should have been AC Origins. To be an Aztec assassin in 1450s AD Tenochtitlan would be insane, killing Messo priests that aim to sacrifice humans to Quetzalcoatl and assassinating corrupt Azetc kings ,replacing them with more capable leaders and then to fight against the invading Spanish conquistadors… so many possibilities. AC Babylon where you go up against the guards of Nebuchadnezzar I 1121 BC and help thwart his plans of the construction of the Tower of Babel. Follow Cyrus II The Great 600BC of the Achaemenid Persian Empire The Great King, King of Kings, King of Anshan, King of Media, King of Babylon, King of Sumer and Akkad, King of the Four Corners of the World to conquer Messopotamia, Anatolia and the levant. Abolishing Slavery throughout the Empire , conquering Babylon, and rescuing the Isrealite people and escorting them back to their homeland ,to Jerusalem. Medieval France where you fight against the Avignon Papacy of the 1260s AD - Treachery perpetrated by the Avignon Popes and the vile king Phillip IV the Fair 1264 AD, that betrayed the Templar order ,forced them to dissolve and brutally tortured and executed them. Thus in a twist, you end up helping the real / original Templar knights to escape torture and execution, to help them relocate, to start a new life (Such as in Portugal) and to help them fight against the new, evil powers in charge, the corrupt Avignon Papacy. Where we get to revisit the events of ‘’Unities’’ start where legend sir Jack de Molay had cited before the tribunal of God that vile Phillip and the corrupt Pope Clement will be cursed by God Three in One. This time , we will see his execution in person as an assassin allied to the knights. One year after he perpetrated his treachery, Phillip IV and Pope Clement V were both struck down by God. Phillip having died in a ‘’Hunting Accident’’.... A few months after Phillips' burial , lightning struck the convent housing his remains and it burnt to the ground. And finally I need to go back to beautiful Constantinople but During the reign of Emp Justinian 500s AD, working for the Byzantine Emperors to Assassinate their numerous political enemies.

The franchise still died to me after Desmond was killed. Unity was going in the right direction gameplay-wise. Syndicate ruined it with automatic animation for fighting. Origins... I couldn't get past the stiff new combat and dull story after a few hours. I haven't bought or played any other AC game since even though I was a big fan. Now, it's still getting worse with the random supernatural when going back to the past. Including Valhalla and Mirage. AC shouldn't have supernatural beings or powers when going into the animus onto the past. What the fuck Ubisoft...

I don't care one bit about the story outside of history/the animus, I just want the historical content. My top ACs are Origins,2,Brotherhood and Unity. Revelations setting of Constantinople was superb, but the half arsed npc design ( copy and paste potato face) really placed that game on the back burner for me. But without a shadow of a doubt my favoutire Assassin's Creed of all time still remains Assassins Creed one. The setting of the Levant is such a climax in our world's history, the numerous cultures and world views that all convened ,coexisted and cooperated at this crossroads were immense. Medieval, in cities that are policed by soldiers , guards and police forces , shows exactly why stealth and assassins were a reality/necessity. Those settings are superb. With iconic cities such as Arce,Demascus and the center of the world Jerusalem , the world in which you find yourself is so rich in history, culture and importance, filled with peoples and packed, lively streets. In a medieval setting using European arming swords, ME shamsiers , short sword, throwing knives and your iconic hidden blade , makes the close quotes melee combat the best there ever was. I adored the melee combat in these older AC games, such beautiful, complex, flowing moves that were so elegant and deadly and AC 1 still has the best / most beautiful melee movesets of all the games. You start with just your hidden blade, then slowly as you develop your skills and rank up you gain access to more and more weapons until you are armed with some of the most elegant and deadly weapons of the middle ages. Altair is by far the most intriguing and capable Assassin to me , he is strong, calculating, mysterious and in my opinion the most skilled assassin thus far. The way the factions in the game are depicted is good, Unlike the propaganda of the repulsive woke cult of today , they don’t portray the Christian Crusaders as the villains. Although they did portray the Crusader held territories as cold, bleak, dilapidated and run down where the Muslim areas are vibrant and more appealing which I do not agree with. Especially the Hospitallar quarters which in reality were some of the cleanest and most clinical areas in the entire Levant since they specialised in surgery and the healing and recuperation of all injured / sickly people , be it wounded crusader knights or Muslim/Christian/Jewish villagers sharing the same cities. The Crusaders specialised in the construction of wells and water ways / aqueducts that facilitated the flow of fresh , clean water into controlled cities and waste water out of these cities. (Although I can’t recall if Acre was under siege at the time in game, if that is the case, that could explain the city's dilapidated state.) But be that as it may, you still fight against the Crusaders as well as the invasive Muslims. At the end they show that the enemy is not the Templar Knights , but instead the corrupt ,evil leaders on both sides of the conflict. I love that they correctly show that both factions have evil and corrupt figure heads that you have to assassinate and in turn both factions have good honorable leaders that bring so much good to the world such as King Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. I don't want open world, I don't want guns and I loathe MYTHOLOGICAL / MAGICAL shit looking at you AC Viking hype train. Keep it 100% Historical. I loved that AC1 gave tiny hints about God Three in Ones existence/presence but that was never the focus. I want an AC with the depth and realism similar to Red dead Redemption but in a Medieval/Ancient setting.
