Skip is the ultimate heel in sports media history. The fact that he got a reaction means he was successful at his job. He pioneered a new genre of sports media. The guy is in his 70s he’s had a hell of a career.

I live in the Dallas area, and I have followed Dallas sports since the early 1970`s and I first learned about Bavless when he worked for the Dallas Times Herald and he has been a douche for as long as I can remember. The one thing that really ticked me off was his BS slamming of Troy Aikman in the 90`s and all his shows show what a self absorbed jerk he is.
@michaelbuettner14874 ай бұрын
Troy aikman is gay but, if you look at him and Joe buck is very fruity next time you watch them in the booth you can tell it’s true

Cuban misidentified Bayless' problem, it's not 'generalities' it's 'subjective metrics.' An important distinction. Things like track and field, or whether a basketball goes into a basket are objective metrics. Bayless grounds his assertions in subjective assessments, like one would have in creative arts, like dance competions or the Oscars.

Skip filling in for Jim Rome on his radio show was pure gold.

So you're an OG fan? respect

But where Skip and Rome diverged was in that Rome evolved, matured, settled into a lane rather than escalating. There were some things that put Rome on the map that he eventually shifted away from but other things that he stuck with. Rome even still winks and nods at some of the sillier things he used to do. What that dichotomy reads as is Rome=Authentic, Skip=gimmick. Nick Wright will be going down the Skip road, Steven A and Shannon are going down the Rome path where they have graduated to being self based-always a what you see is what you get, intellectual honesty with them.

Bayless could get into a confrontation at a morgue !

He just is something that everyone got tired of. His early success turned into a liability. Skip is like a villain in a 🎬, and he enjoys every aspect of it.

So you're telling me he treats LeBron like his parents treated him? Damn that makes sense. Nbc is making their way back into nba broadcasting, i suspect skip will be on that network.
