First of all, in order for you to understand the concept of art in depth, whose fruit is; the “work of art” and its registry; It is necessary to have a good grasp of the concepts of "art history".
Let's exemplify:
BC In 32,000 B.C., a human need to draw an animal figure on the ceiling of the Altamira cave, art..
The fact that his painting still surprises us today is a work of art..
It is the history of art that allows us to examine this work and know its construction date and technical features.
The concept of art; It may vary according to people, society, culture and period. Art can sometimes be very simple and superficial, and sometimes relative and complex. This situation usually varies according to the view and knowledge of the one who examines it.
Identifying the real artist and the real work of art is just as complex as the concept of art. Today, many artists, whom we all know, were not accepted during their lifetime, and their works were considered as complete freaks. Or vice versa, there are many popular artists whose works are still the subject of debate today, although they were accepted in the past.
As you will notice, instead of describing art, I have shared with you just a few of the many relative situations in it. Because the definition of art that I will convey to you only reflects my understanding of art. Art is really relative. Maybe that's what makes it beautiful and special. Not just one, but millions of truths.
I suggest you; While creating the concept of art in your mind, you do not stick to a single definition and always be open to new information. Different knowledge and different experiences you will gain throughout your life. It will definitely change your perspective on art.
Another issue that is as relative as the definition of art is "Who can be an artist". According to my experience and belief, anyone can be an artist. In fact, I think everyone should be a little bit of an artist. This is exactly why I'm here!
But when it comes to picking up the pen, both in our country and in the world, everyone always has an excuse.
Probably one of the most common excuses in our country is the excuse "I can only draw jinn".
Pablo Picasso made photorealist realistic paintings until the age of 30, after the age of 30 he started to draw leprechauns! and now he gained his fame with these pictures.
For example, there are those who say, "What art after this age?"
Vincent Van Gogh painted in the last 6 years of his life and changed the direction of thousands of years of art history with more than 2,000 works he made in this short period of time.
There are those who say, "I read an irrelevant chapter".
Bob Ross: soldier, Henri Matisse: lawyer, Vincent Van Gogh: priest.
There are also those who say, "I am low-educated".
How lucky you are to have at least one education, Frida Kahlo: she was injured in an accident on her way home from school and did not even graduate. Frida, who was tied to the bed, started painting and became the most important representative of the surrealists after Salvador Dali with her works.
For example, there are those who claim that they have "numerical intelligence and no visual intelligence".
Leonardo Da Vinci had 18 professions in which he was an expert, and 14 of them were numerical. Despite this, he painted the "Mona Lisa" we all know and the "Last Supper" fresco.
There are also those who say "I can't be an artist" and finish the job.
For Albert Einstein, they said that this boy can't read, but he was the only person who broke Newton's law of gravity.
This list can be as long as you want.
But aren't you tired of these classic excuses yet?
I think you should at least love yourself enough not to take refuge in these excuses. Isn't it time to change something and improve yourself? Please try to see and understand what art can add to you.
Whatever your job (i.e. your profession) is! One party must be an artist. Your artist identity; It will enable you to solve the issues in a practical and aesthetic way, to look at life from a different window, and to have a second language in which you can speak the same language with everyone in the world.
That be sure;
While art will make you a happy person, it will also improve your vision and outlook on life.
Thank you for patiently watching till the end.
See you in the next video.
