越看越覺得，進忠給炩妃出的這些主意，一方面的確可以達到固寵的目的，卻同時也不斷地在為炩妃樹敵，讓她暴露在皇后、愉妃的打壓之下。例如這裡的鹿血酒邀寵、稱病私去木蘭圍場，還有後期的水玲朧七姊妹，雖說是取悅了皇帝，但也激化了她和皇后之間的衝突；逼死舒妃一事更是大大得罪了太后，若非炩妃曲辭狡辯，大概早就被太后收拾掉了。衛嬿婉承寵前期（大約嘉貴妃下線以前）一向以低調邀寵、猥瑣發育為原則，所以孝賢皇后離世她不管不問、純貴妃母子失寵她果斷跳船、如懿私通大師一事她也僅出言求情而已；進忠卻一直逼著她捲入甚至掀起後宮鬥爭，可以說是傷敵一千自損八百的險招。反而某些春蟬或是衛嬿婉自己想出的計策相當高明，例如搭上太后捧玫嬪慶貴人的順風車一舞封妃，製造永璇墜馬、富貴兒撲倒璟兕兩個事件讓皇后和嘉貴妃陣營互相撕咬，自己在一旁猥瑣發育，既能透過攪渾後宮的水為自己爭取到上位的空間，又沒有在明面上得罪誰，比進忠想出的那些損招要有用多了。
